It was more revered when the USA had a game and Canada hosted 1.
Having 5 games in the same season tarnishes the uniqueness of it i think.

The Rangers have 2 huh 2 home games is slightly odd.

JMO i hope it pours rain for the ANA vs LA game nothing against the teams just the location and i want to see Sutter go all Sutter comedy about the event. I'm sure he is wanting to avoid the whole absurdity of it in LA.

Rangers are listed as the home team, but it is more a New York showcase with NJ, NYI, and NYR playing in the series.

Yankee Stadium is in the Bronx, hardly the heart of NY. It's pretty easily accessible from both Long Island and New Jersey. Citi Field would be further into Islanders territory, but it doesn't make sense to move the whole operation.

If they really wanted to, they could have had the Isles host a game at Citi Field, the Devils host a game at Meadowlands and of course the Rangers at Yankee Stadium, but that would mean 3 NYC Outdoor games and that seems a bit much.

I'm curious as to how you define who "deserves" an outdoor game.

Is this a riot related comment?

The Meadowlands wouldn't be able to host it as the Superbowl is being played there that week.

Phil Collins. Bam, peanut butter and jam, or green eggs and ham?

This is not the thread for discussions pertaining to Philadelphia Collins and Sons. Please find the appropriate thread.

I really hope the Stadium Series is just a one off thing. Maybe the NHL did this to "reach out" to fans after the lockout. As interesting as it may be for fans in those areas, it'll probably be an expensive one.

I hope they go back with only one game next year. Dissapointed to see Pittsburgh again, but I'm looking to see the special jerseys they'll roll out with next year for those games.
