My doctor would disagree with you. He had me read "The Obesity Myth" by Campos. If you said "Poor Nutrition" and "Lack of Exercise" is the next biggest drain on healthcare, he would be more likely to agree with you.

Generally those things go together. But my doctor says that he himself is supposedly 35 pounds overweight, but he works out every day and eats healthy food (lots of fruits and veggies and whole grains) and HIS check-up said he was in absolutely perfect health in terms of blood pressure, cholesterol, etc..

Morbid obesity is certainly destructive to ones health, but there are not as many morbidly obese people as "overweight" and "mildly obese" people.
