it's very early, but the Liberals are holding a pretty big lead

I think Global said it was 15-20% reporting and they are leading in 50 seats (need 43 for a majority)

this would be a Leafs level choke by the NDP if they can't win this

Honestly though, I don't think this is even close to over.

Even still, this is a pretty embarrassing result for the NDP. This should've been a cakewalk. I tossed my vote in for the Greens.

1/3 of polls reporting and it is the exact opposite of the polling data for the last week.

Have to think if this result holds up in combination with the last Alberta election that pollsters reputations couldn't go much lower.

On the other hand, if the NDPers win, we could snag a few corporate HQs from Vancouver. Telus, Teck - come on down!

Way too early to call IMO. The 12% of the early votes most likely is not counted at all at this point. Still pretty shocking though.

Pleasantly surprised by this result so far. I guess those west coast hippies aren't as dumb as they look.

I think people really wanted to vote NDP but Dix just didn't inspire any confidence, and they did a piss-poor job of presenting their platform.

If Eby beats Clarke, and Weaver holds onto Oak Bay-Gordon Head (has a ten point lead right now), then I'm happy.

I obviously want a NDP government, but a loss is not the end of the world. NDP deserve to lose - Dix is brutal and their campaign was terribad.

if the Liberals win the majority and Clarke loses

they will have someone step down, it would be embarrassing but she would get a seat

this NDP'er on CBC has completely changed her tune lately and is now all about the advance polls changing things

Crazy that Clark led such an impressive comeback yet is losing her own riding.

Can draw some parallels with the last Alberta election for sure. Looks like the electorate desired a change but got cold feet in the voting booth. The NDP didn't run as bad of a campaign as the Wildrosers from what I saw, but it seems as if they played it far too safe.
