Disagree, other than a few minutes in the third I thoroughly enjoyed the effort. They were agressive and on the puck most of the night. It was refreshing.

Genuinely interested in how many of the people calling for the flames to lose actually go to the games? I was at the Dome tonight and would be totally pissed if I thought the a flames weren't trying when I had paid good money for a couple of tickets.

I want the Flames to get as high a pick as possible so I guess I am a want them to lose and I go to games and was there tonight.
If that was them trying then I don't care if they try or not because that was a boring game and terrible effort from both teams.

When i watch them live I cheer for a win, I cant cheer for a loss in person my competitive spirit wont let me. But from the couch flicking through the game watching the last 5 minutes of each period I can rationalize cheering for a loss.

I cheer them when they play well and curse them when they play bad. However, I'm enjoying the new Flames. They play with enthusiasm. At the same time I'm cheering for a top draft choice. I imagine we'll all be satisfied.

There is some payback in order seeing how the Coyotes played a role in the Flames missing the playoffs the past few years which is nice to see. However this is an extremely small victory for this team as there's a bigger picture here and the ultimate results of these games down the stretch are meaningless. It's good to see the kids get to play but don't fool yourself into thinking they are learning to win here at garbage time. The Oilers and Leafs have fooled their fans many times coming up big when it no longer counts. The loser mentality began years ago and won't be alleviated by winning meaningless games at the end of the season. The group that's going to pull this team out of the doldrums isn't even half complete and most of these guys won't even be around when the good times return so there's really no worries about losing out this season cultivating something that's been present all season.
The bottom line is the only thing that counts from now on in is picking top 3 in the July draft. Nothing else matters.

While most of these pairs will likely not be on the next playoff version of the flames, they don't flip half the roster overnight. If you don't want a country club with no accountability, it had better start now as the new people enter. The "next" ones will will filter in slowly joining these ones and learning from them. What attitude would you have them get used to?

I wouldn't want the team to purposely tank like more talented teams like the Avs, Hurricanes, and Lighting seem to be. I want them to try but I hope for them to lose the games because these games matter but only for draft position and nothing else. Wins today have no bearing on wins next season. Absolutely no bearing whatsoever.
I am happy the team isn't quitting but at the same time I'm sad because winning now and dropping in draft order is not what this franchise needs in the big picture. Like has been said though the last four games on the road can hopefully seal the deal.

My first thought after seeing Tanguay go down was that he'll likely need surgery. Tough way to end a season.

That looked like classic MCL injury to me. I would guess no surgery unless his ACL also got involved.
Either way Alex is in Next Yearville.

If that's the case, good chance IMO its not Nextyearville in a Flames uni.

It's in TSN's highlights package. Doesn't look good.

typically when your knee bends sideways, you're going to be out for a long long time.
I hope he will be okay eventually. He will not be back this year.

No matter how hard you cheer for losses, it's not gonna make them happen any more or less frequently. Might as well enjoy the wins, cuz this is a bad hockey team that's gonna lose more than their fair share.
