Not sure if you read my post correctly but I'm pretty sure I didn't mention anything about Calgary reeling off wins. Why can't he build his confidence in the NHL? Calgary is losing right now and Abby is losing right now. As long as he's playing meaningful minutes, I think he could build confidence at either level.

He has played 10 games this year, and the Flames have 15 games left now, so he could be recalled at any time and still be eligible for the Calder next year.
Although the Heat are on the outside right now, they have a better chance at the postseason than the Flames, and I believe a player has to be on an AHL roster at the trade deadline in order to play in the AHL playoffs.
I suspect that Sven and Roman (and possibly others) will be sitting at the Abbotsford airport Wednesday afternoon awaiting their recall at 12:00 Pacific time.

The games from the year before count as well, so he's played a total of 15 games, so he's only allowed to be involved in another 10 before becoming Calder ineligible, not that something like that is overly important. Barkov will win that next year for us anyway.

Not according to what the NHL's website says, http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=24931:

To be eligible for the award, a player cannot have played more than 25 games in any single preceding season nor in six or more games in each of any two preceding seasons in any major professional league.

I don't imagine they would bring Sven back up before the trade deadline. They're trying to shield the kid from the carnage to come.

I think he'll finish the season in Calgary, but I don't think they want him up during the stressful time. Once all the pressure is off, they can bring him up.

I think he will be here for the last ten games or so. Coach wont be so reluctant to give ice time.

By the end of the season, coach will pretty much let them do whatever the hell they want while he has a smoke and drinks wine out of a paper bag.
It's been kind of crappy to watch Hartley go from a really enthusiastic positive coach at the start of the season, to a guy who's clearly been beaten down by the mediocrity and inconsistency of this team. You can see the WTF on his face every time the opposition scores a goal on a turnover. I feel for the guy.

Baertschi and Horak should be with the big club. Hopefully when the trade deadline has come and gone there will be room for these two on the Flames.
Play them with minutes, in all situations, with quality linemates and see what we really have going forward.

Add Reinhart, Breen, and Nemisz to the list. I know Reinhart and Nemisz don't have great stats but they're the most likely to blossom into NHL players vs career AHLers with better stats like Kolanos. Give them so low pressure TOI and see what they can do.

Heat have 6 games left. Flames have 15. I'd bring him up in a few games if the Heat are for sure out of the playoffs.

Problem is the heat aren't done done until April 20th, and even if they are basically out of the playoffs now-ish (they are, the teams above and around them in the standings have 5 games in hand given the schedule the Heat have to play), you can't strip that team totally bare either. There are 4 Flames games, all on the road, after the Heat are done.
That said, there is likely going to be a need for a couple (or, even better, a rotation of Heat players as a reward for them) coming up post April 3rd if Feaster does what he should be doing and clearing the current roster deck for the summer.

How is bringing Sven up "stripping" the Heat? They've played games without him before. He's just one player. If they're already out based on so many games in hand by other teams, you could bring him up on the 8th. He'd miss 4 Heat games in favour of getting into 11 Flames games.

Based on future team needs, I'd call up our centre Reinhart. From reports he's playing pretty well now and a few games in the NHL would do him good and set him up to make a push for a spot next year.

I don't see why not. The Flames have nothing to lose being in 14th place, might as well play your young guys.

Bring him up with no pressure to win games now it would be good for Sven and play him with Huddler and Cevenka it would be good for his confidence.
None of this 4th line crap.
