I'm excited to see them play either with the heat this year (Hanowski), or at development camp this summer!
We can't hate on them because we don't view them as a good enough return on iggy...it's not their fault they were included in such an important trade.
No reason we won't see Hanowski in the next few weeks. He's 22, ready to go pro. Either on an ELC with the bigs in YYC or on an ATC with the Heat.
That's a bonus in this trade, a pro ready player, a guy a couple years away, and a longer term project (as most late first rounders tend to be!)

"His ability to make plays was great," Shatel said. "He obviously came into this year on everyone's radar. He wasn't going to catch anybody by surprise, so to score 50 goals in the Gordon Conference while playing strong defense the way he did was amazing."

All of those goals, points, and wins; and what gets singled out? His defense. His defending was praised. That's very heartening to read from both the player and the coach, in my opinion. It shows that dominating at high school apparently hasn't gone to his head.
NHL Central Scouting’s Jack Barzee stated: “Ben needs to improve his overall skating, but his unselfishness, his hands and above all his ability to score goals sets him apart. His knack for scoring goals is similar to Thomas Vanek – his extra dimension is scoring goals.”Next season he’s committed to St. Cloud State University.

No. No. It has...it has to have a 'ski' at the end of it, otherwise, where's the challenge? You know? If there's no 'ski' at the end of the root word, then we would just be idiots sayin' nonsense.

That's all well and good but means nothing going into the NHL. Hope he makes the team
I wish these young guys the best of luck and look forward to seeing them in action.
Here's Aggy's next game:

Friday, March 29
2 p.m. ET
No. 1 Minnesota (26-8-5) vs. No. 4 Yale (18-12-3)
Here's Hankowski's next game:
Midwest Regional, March 30-31
Huntington Center, Toledo, Ohio
Saturday, March 30
1:30 p.m. ET
No. 1 Notre Dame (25-12-3) vs. No. 4 St. Cloud State (23-15-1)
Hanowski clearly doesn't have Oshie's college stats, so probably we're looking at TJ Oshie as the ceiling for him with the likelihood that he's not gonna end up being as good. Agostino appears to be the better prospect, so if we end up with two players, one slightly better than TJ Oshie, one slightly worse, and let's get crazy and say Nicolas Petan with that 1st round pick that's some pretty solid 2nd line/3rd line depth.
That, of course, is the absolute best-case scenario.

If the trade had involved two 2nd or 3rds fans would be all over it. We get two equivalent picks, and the trade is a disaster. People highly overate both picks and prospects. These are decent prospects that will fit into Calgary's top 10.

I also hope we can get Nicolas Petan with that late 1st.
IMO he would be a top 10 pick if he was 6'0" opposed to 5'9".

That is a good point. Both of these players have progressed and are probably 2nd round equivalents.
You are basically getting a 1st and a couple 2nds or a 1st a 2nd and a 3rd.
And they are more developed (and thus less risky).

I think that is just stings that if it was done a few days earlier we could have had Joe Morrow.
Also, what are the chances Agostino doesn't sign with the Flames? I wouldn't want to if I was him, but I have no idea if other teams have an interest in him.
If Iginla is back in a few months then I welcome them then. If Iginla is gone for good then they might as well be wearing Canucks jerseys. Would have been a lot easier welcoming J. Morrow and Feaster really dropped the ball since I am sure the Pens view B. Morrow as a potential rental too.
To whom did you speak to be "sure" of this? Just curious who your source is...
