I would suggest he's, in house, worth 6-7 million. 8-8.5 is probably his UFA going price.
At that range though, I'd try to brainwash the Ducks into letting go of Getzlaf first. If that doesn't work, give Perry a shot. I don't think it'll ever happen, but strangers things have...

No, not the right timing for the Flames to acquire a top level player coming into his prime. If we are talking Getzlaf however I pay him as much as he wants.
No chance either come to Calgary.

I could see someone doing this for sure, that way the Ducks can at least get some value out of him prior to free agency.
I wonder if the Sabres will show any interest? Their owner has all the money in the world, and might want to make an impact if Buffalo misses the playoffs again this year.

I hope the people saying that Perry isn't a franchise player talent aren't the same ones who were saying O'Reilly is one.
Perry is one of the most natually talented players in the NHL and is a proven winner. I agree that he is a little dirty and bit of a diver though.

I'd be more interested in Getzlaf for 8.5 million, but wouldn't say no to Perry. He's going to be the best guy on the market and it'd be great to get him.

Perry / Getzlaf if they left the Ducks to become a UFA would look to sign wth a Cup contender. Calgary in my view, would not be considered.

Exsqueeze me? Baking Powder?
It's ALWAYS the right time to acquire top level players coming into their prime.
EDIT: Especially those that only cost you cap space.

I would take Perry over Getzlaf. Getzlaf's durability and last season's struggles scare me. Perry, however, is a talented goal scorer who can carry a team offensively. Perfect replacement for Iginla.

Do people really think the 2003 class is just coming into their prime? No, these guys are NHL vets. They've been dominating the league for 5-6 years. They're the most expensive players out there and in their prime now.

We should be more worried about who anaheim will target with Perry gone - Iginla would slot in nicely alongside his friend Getzlaf.

That's not extremely unrealistic but it most likely won't happen. If somehow Perry and Getzlaf wanted to stay together but not in Anaheim then the Flames would be one of the only destinations that works.
I think Feaster should at least try...

You can bet your a$$ he'll try.
If minny got Suter and Parise I see no reason why we can't attract big names.

I would rather not pay Parry the kind of money it would get to even have him consider coming to Calgary with where the team is at now. Hey tho if you want to see the team remain in limbo, not being a cup contender and not quite being bad enough to draft top 5 then by all means, overpay for him. Sooner or later people will figure out you don't win through free agency.

Fully agree. Problem is i don't think ownership see's it that way. If they are going to "remain in limbo", they might as well pick up top end talent in UFA department.
Does not matter, Perry is not coming to Calgary. There are better teams for him to go to that have the cap space.

Perry needs a set up man so teams like Ott,Pits,NYR,Van Or Getz and Perry dont sign with the Ducks and sign else were as a package deal.
Spezza and Perry pairing would be one of the top 3 pairings in the league.

Perry could easily be the set-up man on any top line in the league. His game is that well rounded.
