Wouldn't prospects and younger prospects eat up some of that 7 million dollar cap space? Isn't it very possible that we will be asked to take on a bad contract of one or two players as part of a trade proposal?

How bad would the flames be with out Iginla?

He's not scoring much, but he is playing hard, drawing players to him and setting up goals.

Just a thought...... LAY OFF HIM!!!!!!
If you're not going to sign him in the next month, you sure as hell better be trading him. Letting him walk at the end of the season isn't an acceptable option. It's obvious this team isn't making the playoffs, so a decision needs to be made before April 3.

Why? As I stated earlier, we would have 7 million dollars of cap space freed up to sign UFA's if Iginla chooses to sign elsewhere. Why would that result not be acceptable?

FAs tend to be over-paid has-beens. Better to draft and groom our own core players.
