Take one positive from this season - if we do sell off our players at the deadline, they'll have lofty stats in part because of Hartley.
"You should trade us those 1st and 2nd round picks because Cammalleri is a point per game player". We should be able to find at least one sucker at the deadline.

Man that was a depressing game to be at. Fortunately the section we were in had some great chirping going, made for some good entertainment. Wish the flames could have even just been able to handle the puck, they couldn't even make a single god dam pass.
We really need backlund back, kipper would be nice as well, but you can't fault Joey Mac for that loss.

As extreme as your post sounds, there is a lot of logic to it. We have seen Feaster "re-tooling" this team only to get softer and worse every year. The identity of the Flames has always been a tough team to play against, right now we are just a laughing stock.

We have no real idea how he's drafted here with the Flames yet, though he didn't draft that well when he was with Tampa Bay.
People always talk about not jumping the gun on drafted players when people are disappointed in them shortly after they're drafted, so there's no reason to jump the gun for the opposite reason. The players need to mature still, for better or worse. We won't know if he's drafted well or badly for a number of years yet.

I like it. Now if we can somehow land and then trade first overall, imagine how high in the second round we could end up!!! Lets do this!!

One has to ask what happened to the team that came out of the blocks at least playing hard every night? I can't remember seeing the team collectively this bad over consecutive games. Nearly every single player playing like crap for 6 periods. I think it's too early for the team to be quitting on Hartley but something's up as this team has looked completely disinterested in their last two games.

5 years. NO! 10 years! 15 years!
We're going to set a record for most years between playoff appearances! The Calgary Flames will! Not the Islanders, not the Blue Jackets, not the Oilers, but the Flames!

Careful, Darryl Sutter still has a pretty big part in this. He must be pretty satisfied coaching a team with homegrown talent given the mess he created here.

It's just a bad, poorly-constructed team. No surprises about this season so far.

After watching that game and the one against Phoenix, I just don't see how the Flames could compete in a tough playoff series. Not that they are going to make the playoffs, but if they somehow caught teams sleeping on them over and over and snuck in, what the hell are they going to do once teams start cycling against them?
Iginla and Brodie (Horak wasn't bad I guess) were the only decent players for the Flames. Bouwmeester, Glencross, Giordano, and Cammalleri (our assistant captains) were all crap.

It took awhile for Toronto to re-orient itself after Sundin retired, and I expect it'll probably take awhile for the Flames to do the same once Iggy and Kipper leave. I think it may actually end up taking slightly longer than 7 years (total) if Iggy and Kipper stay here and the Flames get nothing in return and continue to try and shuffle the chairs around them.

Too bad they couldn't find something better than chairs.

first of all, Wiesbrod is in charge of the drafting.
Second of all, how many of those guys are playing in the NHL right now?
Thirdly, you have your opinion, I have mine, thus the qualifier of "jmho"

To be fair, this is like watching someone touch an oven element over and over and over. Management and ownership just watches this team derp its way through what is about to be a fourth season and they just keep touching the "remain competitive" element.
Some people want them to get 3rd degree burns so they wake the #### up.

A lot of the teams I cheer for are bad. I'm well versed at this plight. I think you are upset and when people get upset the look to their usual lightning rods to vent which is me. I don't enjoy this at all but I'm making the best of it you should as well as getting upset at me isn't going to change the fact that the team you cheer for is going through a poor spell.

True, but Brent kept saying the team has to play a certain way to win, maybe he was on to somethings. Remember when the team would basically play a Brent Sutter style game for 3 periods? Some games it worked really well.
Meh I'm just grasping at straws I don't know about this team anymore...
