Props to the Phoenix fans...good size crowd, everyone on their feet when they score. Looked fun for their fans in attendance (probably helps their lower bowl seats were $10)

My thoughts on Taylor:

a) First goal was a miscommunication between he and the d-man. Taylor's a very good stick handler, but his teammates don't know that yet. The d-man tried to play it, but didn't know Taylor could handle it. Ultimately resulted in blown coverage and a goal.

b) Second goal was 100% Taylor's fault. The puck found a small opening in the five hole and it went in. Taylor's fault, but 99 times out of 100 that puck wouldn't have went in. Bad luck, but Danny has to stop that.

c) Taylor got a piece of the third goal. It went off his shoulder and Wideman put it in by accident. Pretty big cluster F of a play.

d) Again, 100% Taylor's fault on the fourth goal. He can't let bad goals go in from that angle.

For a goalie that is one of the best in the AHL at positioning, he let in a couple of bad ones based on his blown positional play. I wouldn't say it's the end of Taylor. He played solid for nearly two periods. I would hope they'd give him another start because two of those goals normally wouldn't have gone in.

Tanguay looked like garbage all game, likely never recovered from that head shot first shift. Giordano looked like yesterday after he got hit in the head.
That said, that Phoenix's game. A junk goal on Taylor stands for almost 40 minutes and he lets in 3 more goals, all with varying degrees of smell.
They weren't coming back from 2-0.
Gripe about forwards not scoring sure but the bigger issue is trying to get average goaltending.
They may get it from MacDonald but he isn't in shape to play all the games they have coming up between now and next Thursday.

Well, so much for the revolving goalies.

Its down to riding Macdonald until he collapses, or Kipper returns.

Average age of the coyotes is 28.6
Average age of the flames is 28.8

This age excuse is getting old (pun unintended)

A little update on Hartley's seven game block schedule. We have now completed two segments and are currently 5 points behind his expectations. Two and a half games back could be percieved either way at this point.

One side of the argument, if not for injuries they could be well above that mark or just on par.

Other side, unacceptable in a shortened season injuries or not. The amount of forward depth should have be able to handle it and should be meeting the coaches expectations by now.

and from left field, this team was destined to fail from the start. Feaster and company should have listened to the fans last years and tore apart the core.

It's not an excuse, it's just the way it is. Too many of our top players are 30+ and then we have the centre depth of a Macs Midgets team.

Taylor was impressive... I liked how he looked a lot better than how I've liked Irving. Too bad for Napolean.

However, you can't win if you can't score, so Taylor might as well have let in 100.

Pathetic effort by a pathetic team. Loss certainly wasnt Taylor's fault as he played decently for the first 40 minutes and his team didnt score a single goal for him (and didnt even really threaten to), but you cant let in one really bad goal a game, let alone 3 in one period.

Too bad Iginla couldnt play this game, and too bad Tanguay did.

Don't know where the site gets its info, but it claims late March for Kipper. Tomorrow will be two weeks to the day since he was hurt, I haven't seen anything suggesting his return is imminent.
