Okay people need to chill.
We had defense last season, wasn't enough offense.
Now we have an offense-first mindset, but you should know it's going to inevitably leave things a little loose on the back end. Under Hartley this team can't be expected to shut down high end players effectively all the time, while playing a north-south, d-man pinching type game. That's a given. Our current system requires a guy of Kiprusoff's stature to back the team and make some harder than average saves for us. It's just the way it is. That's the only way we're going to be able to win games in offensive fashion.
So naturally, when we get a super average goalie in between the pipes, our system and style is going to make him look pretty bad, cause he's not going to make those saves that the team can come to expect with an elite guy.
Not that hard to grasp. Nor should it be surprising.
This team does need Kiprusoff.

Wow, what a waste of time that was to watch. Better team won. Flames goalies have been a joke. Irving is a fluke to make it this far. He looks like mcbackup where not only is he not good, Every saves he makes appear to be sheer luck.
Quarter of the season done, think the writing is on the wall, hoping for some "intellectual honesty".
I want to know what we can get for kipper, Iginla, Tanguay, giordano.

If Jackman doesnt increase his compete level and throw a big hi or start a scrap when playing against Ryan Reeves after we go down three early and the building is dead (and they were on the ice together), then someone has to convince me he belongs in the NHL.

Meanwhile in the Canucks game, 3 fights in a row following a big hit and a couple of teams trading goals.
Hockey? What?

Jackman has no role, I'd rather just have baertchi on that line when he's back. Hackman is scared to hit or get into a fight, he literally shies away.

...throw Glencross in on that as well. I'm a fan of his, but he may get decent value.

Clearly one of the few that still believe the problem lied in the coaching the past 10 years or so.
I hate to be the one to break this to you, but this team is not a winning team even with Kipper in net.
Not that hard to grasp. Nor should it be surprising (yet some people continue to believe a new system will fix the same broken, uninterested team). Hey, I applaud your optimism.

I am no math genius but as it stands now we are on pace for a 44 point season. that cannot be a good thing. sure the stats will vary as each game progresses but dang.
Again just a guess but as it stands now we wouldn't even finish with over 80 points in an 82 game season.

.458 point percentage at the 25% mark of the season. Keep selling the dream Feaster and Co.
