How did the Pope resign?
Who did he give his letter of resignation to?
Was his letter of resignation accepted?
Who accepted the letter of resignation?
The Pope doesn't have a worldly boss, so did God accept his resignation? If so this is the story of the century... proof of God's existence!
Or his resignation wasn't accepted by God and the (soon to be former) Pope is a quitter. He quit on God! What kind of holy man quits on God?
I suspect that this will all be spun as "the Lord works in mysterious ways" But seriously, I don't think "resigns" is the correct word. I think the Pope has announced plans for his abdication.

I would assume that the next Pope will come from South America.

He must be quite ill to be resigning during the Lenten season.
Pope JP II is who I'll always think of as "my" Pope, but I've enjoyed Pope Benedict XVI and his tweets providing an oasis in my (usually negative) Twitter feed.

I've got a cool $5 on both Oullet and Turkson, lol. I think they were at 4.8 and 4.5 respectively.

They should have traded him for a first rounder and a decent defence prospect years ago.
