The black guys hated swimming and the Asians couldn't drive. That episode successfully fulfilled the racial stereotypes.
Glad my team stuck around. Max and Katie simply had a bad first leg. Chuck seems pretty decent, but in the end his wife will drag him and the team down. She simply can't keep up with the pace.

Well it looks like a quick end for me lol. First out and the marketing of the next episode makes it look like my other team will be a injury casualty. I guess i'll see but not looking good.
Good to see Bates and Anthony survive even though they don't seem long for the race. I can't believe those idiots didn't use their Express Pass, or changed tasks at such a late time. I haven't watched all the seasons, but was that the worst run leg by a team in the history of the show? Absolutely pathetic.

Yeah, how they played that leg was just baffling. They know they are already in the middle of the pack at best, then they decide to go try the other detour instead of using an express pass? Then they know they are down to the last two teams, and they don't use an express pass? to give them a chance?
Simply baffling. She looked like she might kill him in their comments after they lost.
Watched it last night and haven't laughed so hard in a long time. It wasn't that they ran such a terrible leg it was that he somehow rationalized everything along the way and did so calmly. Even when they had to have known they were at the very least in the bottom 3 he still refused to use the pass. Just awesome. Also loved when Phil gave him the look of death when he tried to sneak a peak at the boards of the checked in teams. So glad it wasn't a non-elimination leg.
The other best part of the show was the top two teams at the final task. The gal couldn't find Phil so came back and asks the son whether he wanted to find it together provided he step on the mat second. He laughs says "no", and having no clue what board he's supposed to grab, looks at hers, grabs the right one and bolts.
stretch out the shows while not having to deal with the logistics of more teams. I'm sure they also have them to help build the drama a bit for the viewing audience and of course the contestants themselves.
The Amazing Race has always done a good job of showing what exists in that country, without glorifying or commenting on it at all. I don't think yesterday was any different.
Plus, if people were going to be upset about last night, they could be upset for the same reasons many other times in the show's history. This one just happened to take the contestants somewhere that is particularly sensitive to Americans.
I don't see the issue.

Having an occasional non elimination leg gives some incentive for a team that knows that they are in last place to keep fighting to get to the finish line.
But the main reason, like stated, is to extend the show without adding more teams.

FB is blocked from my work. Whats the issue with them going to Vietnam?
Blocked here too, but I'm guessing it has something to do with Communism? They went to that play or whatever which was essentially Communist propaganda.
