A couple months back I interviewed for the job of music guy at Hitmen games, basically expressing many of the same concerns as are voiced in this thread, while of course offering thoughts and ideas on how I would improve it.
I did not get the job.
That organization is perfectly fine with being complacent and playing crap music over and over every season forever.

It's true though. Specifically I was told it would be dumb to stop playing bands like Lady Gaga and Pink because they're some of the top bands in the world. And when I suggested Cotton Eye Joe had had its time the guy said there was no song that gets people up and dancing/more pumped up than that one. I'm serious. He wasn't even an old guy. The music guys are so out of touch its a little startling.

Well right or wrong, I'm sure he's likely right about the Pink and the Lady gaga, wrong on Cotton Eye joe. It's a big crowd at the dome, and its diverse, I don't doubt there's some truth to the fact that top 40 pop will resonate with majority of the crowd. Tough to get to creative would be my guess and not allianate 80% of the crowd, but I agree the music is way too stale.
Here's my suggestion for intro song... Perhaps may not appeal to all tastes. You could take out the vocals and just have an instrumental.
Goal song, probably the most overused MLB walk on song, but still good (I kind of like the current song though):
Obviously no matter what they use there will be more than a handful of people that think it sucks. Music is subjective like that. I think it's more important they just score goals, or else the song wont matter.
^ It has had a more a successful run and shelf life than the current rubbish that is the goal "Barbara Streisand" song that was cool for 2 months 1.5 years ago.
The Kotalik song was better than that.
ACDC or (insert your favorite band here that no one else has heard of) doing "Shot down in Flames" made sense on a couple levels and it should have never left.
