Don't blame Nino for wanting out. They have misused him since they drafted him. He realistically should have been back in the WHL after he was drafted for more time to develop but nope, they decided to throw him into the wilderness on his own before he was ready. I hope Feaster is all over this. And i hope Bouwmeester is involved.

In hindsight yes. Feaster said the Yotes wanted our first round pick when we were in top 5 territory. If the Isles ask for the Flames first pick after 15 games and we are in 14th would you want him to pull the trigger on Nino?

A bit conflicted.
Calgary could use more talented young players, and this guy looked like a stud going into the draft, but I generally dislike any player this early in his career and this unproven at the NHL level demanding a trade.
Half a season in the AHL for a guy who clearly wasn't ready last year doesn't scream "Mismanagement" of "Unfair Treatment" to me. He hasn't earned anything yet.

I get your point, but it's pretty obvious he won't have a shot in NHL as long as he is in Islanders, so I'd say his demand (request) is right on.

True. But the guy is one of the league leaders in the AHL and he didn't even get and INVITE to the Islanders training camp.
The Islanders! It's not like he was fighting for a spot on a club that was expected to compete for the cup.

He was thrown to the wolves last season simply to bring the team up the cap floor.
He didn't even get a look in camp when he's by far the best player on his AHL team (9 more points than the next best player). Maybe he doesn't make the team, but at least give the guy a look even you intend on him staying in the minors as a reward for good service.
I never understood this mentality that young players shouldn't be allowed to demand a trade. They have no say in what organization they end up in. The Islanders have clearly screwed him around and put his development on hold last season to get to the cap floor without having to pay real money. His career is potentially worth millions of dollars - why should he have to pay his dues and potentially ruin his development when he didn't choose to join the Islanders in the first place?

I thought if you had a NTC and were traded the NTC became null? Does this not include Limited NTC?

I watched both of them with the Oil, but Visnovsky is just plain better than Souray at both ends of the rink. One of the most underrated players of this generation.

I would likely take him on the roster over Bouwmeester at this point in time.
Not because of the festering hate this board has for him but because anything, something diefferent than Bouwmeester on the back end should be tried.

a team that has brutal centers, can't be trading 2 young (1 prospect) centers for a winger, at least in my opinion.
They went out and got visnosky, he didnt' show up. Let's trade bouwmeester for neiderraiter, visnosky, and any dman they are willing to part with??
Of course that would mean having to pay for visnovksy's contract i suppose, but hell, it ain't my money.

I think I would actually do that. Provided of course that Visnovsky agree's to come over and play in advance.

I'm not sold on him enough to give up much. Poor NHL results and good, but not spectacular AHL results so far.
He is still young, but I think he can go either way now. I sure wouldn't re-draft him 5th overall though.

I would totally give JayBo + a bit extra for him if I was Feaster. Islanders would probably bite.

I don't necessarily think they should either. I would imagine that is about the minimum that it would take to give up though. I'm very intrigued what he would fetch in a trade given his struggles last season and his undeniable potential.

My understanding is that a trade only nullifies an NTC or NMC if the player is moved before it takes effect. Since Cammalleri was group 3 (unrestricted) eligible, his NTC would have been immediately in effect, so the Flames could not void it on acquisition.

Bouwmeester wouldn't.
The fantasy trade people need to work out three-way deals if they want to include Bouwmeester.
