We Timbers fans love the Canadian Johnson!

Another crazy finish to the TFC game. Down 2-0 in the 85th against the #1 team in the West (FC Dallas) and they pot 2, including a beauty in the 90th to tie it up. Horrid officiating on the non-penalty.

Timbers with a 2-0 victory at home vs. an excellent Houston club. Probably a top 3 MLS performance for Portland.

Usually TFC is finding ways to blow games in the final 10 minutes (see last week vs LA). Darel Russell is an atrocious defender but he made a lot of fans with his 90th minute strike. 5 points in games against the Canadian rivals, reigning 2-time MLS champion and current conference leaders. Much better start to the season then anticipated.

Their ability to pour it on when down late in a game seems much improved. It's kind of funny, they struggle to generate anything in the name of being defensively responsible, give up 2, then throw defending to the wind, put everyone up field, somehow escape the glorious chances Dallas has, and pot 2 of their own. Not sure that's a textbook game, but hopefully they gain some confidence knowing they can put some late pressure together.

Is there any way to watch the TFC game here on Saturday? I noticed it's on SNET Ontario

Watching the Whitecaps game this afternoon, and Russell Teibert looks like an absolute stud in the MF for Vancouver.

Timbers take 3 points from San Jose and move to 3rd in the West. Alan Gordon gets sent off for an elbow, he'll miss the rematch in SJ next weekend.

Gordon is likely to miss another three games after that for his homophobic slur that was caught by the cameras. It was directed toward Timbers captain Will Johnson, who made sure to point out the number of games he'd be missing.

I don't understand why Mattocks and Koffie don't start anymore for the Whitecaps. Especially when Kenny Miller is injured, Rennie chooses to go with 3rd and 4th string strikers instead of Mattocks. It makes no sense.

Never thought I'd see the day that I was disappointed with a draw in San Jose, but here we are. Portland has had a good run of dominating possession, but tonight was a 50/50 match. 4 points out of 2 matches with SJ is a great result, I'll take it.

Oh, and Lenhart is a dick.

TFC with a huge 2-0 win tonight over Montreal in the first leg of the Canadian Championship. And FC Edmonton is leading Vancouver 2-1 and buzzing for more.

Edmonton looks really good, especially compared with last year in the same competition. The Whitecaps certainly aren't doing well, but Edmonton's lead is well deserved (so far). I can see me more goal coming tonight, but I'm not sure who will get it!

I would have liked to have gone to see this match, but a mid-week fixture, a three hour drive, and work tomorrow make it pretty tricky.

Question about the lines on the artificial pitch: are the football lines painted on but are easily scrubbed away? Or have they been painted over? I know that some fields (the Shouldice ones here, for example) actually use white turf for the lines as opposed to paint. This obviously makes it difficult or impossible to hide the football lines for soccer. But the pitch in Edmonton doesn't look too bad at all.

Edmonton should have won last night's game. First goal was offside, second goal was created from a dive.

Very entertaining game however.

I'd have to agree with you there. Mattocks was in an offside position and part of the play. And the dive was a bit embarrassing, to be honest.

I was impressed with Edmonton, particularly in the first half. They played well really well.

Timbers get the win in Kansas City!

No road goals had been scored in KC this season, until tonight. 3-2 Timbers.

TFC gives up another late one. What's the deal? Do these guys need some more conditioning practices??

Vancouver battled back from being down 2 with Dallas to end in a draw. I didn't see the game but always love a comeback
