Wait, someone willingly bought a Chevy Colbalt brand new? I didn't know people did that.

I drive a piece of junk and I wouldn't be caught dead in a Cobalt. Maybe if I got one offered to me for free I might use it as a work vehicle, but for someone to willingly buy one brand new that boggles my mind.

I just don't understand why someone would buy one, nevermind brand new.

There are so much better options than a Cobalt if you're willing to spend that much money for a brand new car, and better cars that at least hold their value a lot better.

I'm sure it would be much lower in Alberta.
Good lord Winsor how is this possible? Do you have outrageous third party liability and comprehensive coverage? Right now you're CRS is at -43% so I'm not quite sure why you're paying so much. Four years in BC and I'm paying 1800. My TPL is 2 million, 500$ deductibles for my comprehensive.

Well I know with young people, a lot of times it's just a case of wanting something brand new, and I guess Colbalts are probably one of the cheaper brand new cars you can get, but still......yeesh. I think an entry level colbalt is in the 15 - 20k range.

Just think of what you could get for that if you went back three or four years.

Kids are weird, given the choice of going a few years back and getting something like this...

A 2008Audi A4, S line, with 80 clicks for around 20k (pulled this particular ad from kijiji calgary).

Or getting a true entry level vehicle, for around the same price, they'll usually go with the "shiney" one. They'll also usually get a couple of "upgrades" and bump the price up a couple G's, so they can feel like they really made that sucker their own,a nd they can say "yeah, I got it brand new and that way I was able to get all the upgrades I needed".

Just for kicks and giggles I got a quote from Kanetix, and it's cheaper than what I'm paying. I already thought what I was paying was pretty darn good. Will have to look into Kanetic when I renew. yay!

Don't you have enough money to insure your self?
