This is a tragic story. I feel terrible for the survivors. Rather than analyze the actions of everyone involved, I'm going to treat it as a cautionary tale.
I can't imagine what the daughter must be feeling. It's one of those situations where I'd think she's considered that maybe she would have been better off joining the rest of her family.
