Well, there was no indication in the pilot that there would be a will-they-won't-they between Watson and Holmes, and there's every indication that they could have a very interesting interpersonal dynamic, so I'm not going to prematurely write the show off.
Just watched Last Resort - really liked the premise, writing was good as were all of the performances. My only worries are whether there is a multi-season arc, and the fact that it's a network show, presumably meaning 20+ episodes and thus more filler than a more focused cable show. All in all, still very much looking forward to the next episode.

Last Resort was the best pilot episode to be shown on TV in years.

You don't think there was any good old fashioned ultra-repressed Victorian era sexual tension in Conan Doyle's original literature?

Last Resort won't be Lost, but the Lost pilot was the last one I remember watching where you felt like you were shot out of a cannon, with the story immediately going 70 mph, and where every aspect seemed solid - writing wasn't full of cliches and hokey lines; characters were well defined, relatively deep, and well acted; and there seemed like there's a fleshed out world and premise underlying the story that wasn't held together by duct tape and sleight of hand. You've got tension within the crew, between the crew and the SEALS, between the military and the islanders, and with, and within, the government. It was all fantastical, but I never felt like I had to turn off my brain completely to stay in the story.

This is good to hear. I was looking forward to this show so it's good to know that people are liking it so far. Will have to check it out.

Totally agree. Thing that worries me though is how this can drag out for more that one season, they'll either have to focus on the storyline in DC to do that or turn it into a circus power struggle on the island. That might not be too fun. Plus there are only so many things you can do on an non-mystical island stationary island.

Give it 3 episodes.
They did hint at it when she guessed his troubles in England were about a girl. He's now vulnerable and shes vulnerable (no longer a practicing Doctor) and all the evidence points to both being single.
I usually give shows about 3 - 5 episodes before making my decision, but this might be the one (besides the Napoleon Dynamite cartoon) where I drop it completely after on view. We already have Castle and this isn't going to be much different.

Looking forward to Dexter returning tonight overall, but I hope they don't try and brush under Debra finally finding out about Dexter's secret. Someone close to him finding out about his true nature is the one story they need to delve into before the show ends next year. This is their best chance to do so, and frankly I am getting tired of him hunting down other killers.

Bye Bye one of Community or Parks.
If NBC had more bombs, they would've had a better shot.

With Parks and Rec having a full season order and Community only having 13 ep's (probably to get it to syndication), I'm guessing Community is done after this season.
It's a shame that of all the channels on tv (not including HBO, AMC, Showtime, etc.), I think NBC has the best shows, yet they all get terrible ratings. Meanwhile, CBS who has arguably the worst shows on television get all the good ratings.

I checked out Last Resort, and enjoyed it for the most part. I'll give it another shot. A little too much cheese for my liking, but not bad.

The fact that Community is on the verge of being cancelled and The Big Bang Theory is one of the most popular shows on tv makes me want to put a bullet in my brain.
Every joke on Big Bang is one of the three:
- Penny doesn't get something
- Sheldon uses overly "smart" talk in an awkward situation
- Sheldon pisses Lenard off while being "witty" with his intelligence
That is all that freaking happens. The only two characters that I think are funny are Raj and Howard.
Don't get me wrong, I understand why Community isn't a ratings darling. I have no issue with funny shows like Modern Family and Two and a Half Men which are more accessible beating it... But Big Bang? It is worse then EVERY established comedy on NBC.

2nd episode of Ben and Kate was a real let down. I had high hopes for the show after the pilot but it looks like it won't live up to my expectations.

You're crazy. This episode was way better than the pilot. Kate talking about herself and growing up with all the pictures of black people in the background. Ben storming in and yelling "how are we with limes?"....

Finally watched the pilot last night and I totally agree.
I am concerned about where they go from here, but if they can keep up anywhere close to the awesomeness of that first show, they will have a winner.

I think Ben is hilarious, but I'm not sure it's enough to carry the rest of the cast. I've enjoyed both episodes.

The first episode of the Office this season was meh.
The second was frankly garbage and a waste of time. I've never felt that way about The Office before. Honestly... the hand chopping bit? ... the whole "let's see how stupid Erin is" storyline.
ffs
