From 0-40 meters he's average...from 40-100 he's a jaguar.

Does BOLT intend to participate again in Rio? He'll be 30 yrs old. Should still be lots of gas in the tank.

Would`ve liked to see Powell finish the race... feel bad for him.
Always one of my favorite sprinters.

Usain Bolt is insanely quick, but the entire field would have done a sub 10 second run if Powell didn't injure himself.
My god these guys are quick.

Wow, Gord Miller just said he finished the race in 41 strides. That's ridiculous.

Do you guys think the 9-second barrier will ever be broken someday?

Reason: 9 second, not 8 second

After watching the replays it is just crazy. They are all relatively the same, then after that 40m he just turns on the afterburners and takes off and leaves everyone behind.

Sorry, yeah that's what I meant. Below 8 seconds would be impossible.

Doesn't hurt that he's 6'5" either. The shorter legs have to work twice as hard as Bolt's long legs.

I'll admit, I haven't been paying lots of attention, but is it customary for ALL medalists to do a victory lap with the flag? I noticed it in the Women's 100 final and now again today that Gatlin took a lap with the US flag, along with Bolt and Blake. Has it always been this way? I only remember the winner with the flag in the past—it seems pretentious to me.

Ben Johnson if he never got busted would have broken it.
He ran 9.79 in 1988! impressive!
