Tomorrow! Tomorrow! It's only a day away!
J Pold, did you go for a trusty SII? Or did you manage to wait?

Btw, did you get Marble White or Pebble Blue?

Be warned that some stores are charging a bogus $35 in store setup fee. I just walked out of a store because of this. It is not an activation fee from Telus.

Very common for dealerships to do this. Outside of Ontario, the dealerships are all private (look closely, it's not an actual Telus store, it's an electronics store licensed to sell Telus products). I worked for a dealership about 5 years ago, we had random service fees for everything.

Yeah I convinced a friend to lend me his old iPhone which I have been using (as an aside I am very unimpressed with it, but I don’t want to start a religious war) so now I am waiting to upgrade to the S3. Is there possibility I could get one today without a pre order? Or will I have to wait a week or so?

Probably tough, Bell told me they ordered 20,000 for Alberta and they only got 1000. he did say Bestbuy/Futureshop got a lot more then the Bell stores. maybe try there.
BTW..crazy phone (if you call these things phones) I'm thinking some beautiful babe is going to pop out and give me a rub in my sleep tonight.

Had an idea!
|
They are expecting around 10 million pre-orders in the first 2 months, and that is WITH the serious lack of supply.
I imagine everyone that 'ordered' phones got a certain amount, but probably less than what they actually asked for.

I got a 32GB Pebble Blue at the Chinook Telus Store, lower level at 5 this afternoon! No bogus fees either, and they seemed to have a fair amount of stock! In my estimation, the actual corporate Telus stores are your best bet for getting a GS3.
So far, I am really enjoying this phone. The stock keyboard is a bit small for me and I wish the screen were viewed more easily in sunlight. Minor quibbles. This thing's a dream!

Phone is suppose to be made for "humans" and doesn't come with a full manual, but for those aliens like myself I found a pdf manual online if you need it.
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/co...619_Screen.pdf
Oh and the first time the phone rings, don't try to push the green circle on the screen to answer it..just move it up to your ear and it amswers..doh!!

Just an FYI, but if you go to Rogers site and select the phone on no contract and add it to your cart, as a price error you can possibly get it for $400 (32GB). I'm crossing my fingers as I ordered 1 last night.

Picked one up first thing this morning. Is anyone else having issues with delayed activation? I went in this morning, re-uped my contract, and changed my phone number. The girl at the store said it would take 15-20 minutes to have the phone become active due to the size of the launch. Anyway it’s been almost three hours and still nothing. I went back to the store and they just said I’ll have to wait, and could take up to 24 hours to become active. Is this normal during a launch?

Pretty pumped here. Today I found out that I won a GS3 through a random facebook draw from a local phone dealer. Unfortunately I will have to wait until inventory levels stabilize a bit.
Will give my GS2 to my wife to use once I get the new phone.

I waited about 2 hours, I kept powering it on and off and finally got the sim activated.

I pickled a s3 up today from a Telus dealer in market mall. They had tons in stock and no bogus fees either.

How is your battery life on LTE? I'm already down to 23 percent from waking up with a full charge at 7:30.
