Kevin Lowe's son overcomes his genetics and scores the GWG for the Oil Kings. Brossoit gets the win, Reinhart with 2 assists and Leach one goal for the Ice. Edmonton leads the series 2-0 (if the Ice get eliminated, I assume Reinhart and Leach will go to Abbotsford).
The Wheat Kings beat the Hitmen 4-1 and Ferland had the GWG on the PP. Brandon leads the series 2-1.
There are no games on the schedule for tomorrow. The Calgary-Brandon and Portland-Kelowna series both resume on Tuesday, and the Edmonton-Kootenay series resumes on Wednesday.

Was at the Oil King/Ice game today. Reinhart was great for the most part. Definetly notice him everytime he is on the ice. Had the two assists, but he did have two penalties which both ended up giving the Oil Kings either a goal or momentum. Was impressed with Leach. Haven't seen him a lot so I was really watching him tonight. Just a real steady d-man. Has good size, a good stick and played on the first PP unit. Had a nice snipe on his goal joining the rush coming out of the penalty box. Brossoit played pretty well. Made some real nice saves when the game was 3-2 for the Ice. And talking to some people I guess he was just fantastic on Friday when he recorded the shutout.
Would really love to see a Portland/Oil King final. Would be great to see Baertschi and Wotherspoon face Brossoit in the final live.

As much as I hope for our Flames prospects I can't resort to cheering for any Edmonton team.
Along the same lines of thought, I can't cheer for any of our prospects going against the Hitmen. I hope Ferland has a great series but an early exit from the playoffs.

Goalie, Laurent Brossoit. We drafted him last year in the 6th round:

Like Kevin Lowe or not, and you clearly don't, but he was a really good defenceman. Not flashy or offensive, but a tough, gritty guy you hated to play against. In fact, Gretz when asked to name a player he most hated to play against, said Lowe in practice.
I was at the game last night and that shot by Junior was a great one. Lots of NHL players wouldn't have been able to make it.

The WHL changed the assists in game 2 of the Portland/Kelowna series. Baertschi was given another assist and now has 5 assists in 2 playoff games.

Gretzky is giving his buddy props. That is all that is. Neil Sheehy is a guy Gretzky hated to play against, but he'd never say that in a public way because it just gives Sheehy credit.
Lowe was a good defensive defenseman, but was over rated. He certainly wasn't great. Sather always managed to pick his own players for all star teams and Canada Cups. Lee Fogolan was an all star once under that old system.
I think the poster was suggesting that Lowe couldn't score. He played in the highest scoring era in the history of hockey, for the highest scoring team, and still couldn't score.

No, I was suggesting that Kevin Lowe is a loser who sucks.
It was a joke. No need to over-analyze it...or analyze it at all.

An assist for Baertschi as Rattie makes it 1-0, 5:56 into the game.

This isn't fair for other teams when they are playing in the presence of a god.

The Kelowna announcer: "Shouldn't he be in Calgary? Don't they have a game coming up? Boy, he's good."

The Wheat Kings defeated the Hitmen 3-1 to take a 3-1 series lead. No points for Ferland.
Game 5 goes Thursday night in Winnipeg.

Doesn't look like the Hitmen will be playing in Calgary again this season.

Change of plans Feaster.
1) Trade for Rattie (Baertschi's current RW) and Niederreiter (his mentor last year)
2) Teach one of them to play C.
3) ???
4) Profit

I am at the game with my wife, Bart is awesome, every shift has been a scoring opportunity.
Portland outshot Kelowna 21-9 in the first!
