Ok....
the acting, was as good as you could expect for what are essentially amateurs.
The story was reasonable and covered a large part of the globe.
The action, the battle/combat scenes were insane, I really enjoyed that part of the movie.
As Nage Waza has said there are a lot of elements that would be recognized by COD players, if you have ever finished the game you will see the SEALs get thanked for their contribution to the game (even though they are hardly represented).
I enjoyed it, I know there will be a lot of people trashing it as US propaganda but to me it was just a good action flick.

I think that if you go in expecting some wooden acting, and lots of cool soldier talk, and stuff being blown up, then the movie will deliver....

I don't think that I can name a war movie that made me jump out of my seat and say . . . yes you get it.

They either overdue the simulated terror and lather on the angst about combat and the horrors of war.

Or they over due the Rambo factor.

Even Platoon which I rate as one of the best war movies of this generation is guilty of both.

Until someone can make a proper version of Red Badge of Courage, I doubt that Hollywood will ever get it.

I liked the movie, it was pretty good for what it was, an action movie.

I dont know about the facts, but considering my buddy was in the navy in assorted capacities for many years thought it was good, I'll take his opinion over a bunch of web opinions.

Well you said I was wrong. It was more a fact than an opinion on your part.

It's too bad you just couldn't say "I was wrong".

No I said the reviews said you're wrong when you say the movie has a 'horrible' plot, 'horrible' acting.....etc, etc.

Nobody expected the acting to be 1st rate. Which is why its so bloody frickin' hilarious that people are bitching about it.

Its like expecting the Flames to be the top scoring team in the NHL this year, and then bitching when they're not.

Interrogation and torture are different, this is an interrogation scene.

That scene was not in the movie. There was a scene with an interrogation, they show the guy a video of his family (I assume at their safe house) and asked him something about their safety. They said we promise not to hurt you, but clearly leave out his family from the deal. The guy tells them what they need to know. That is pretty much it. Whatever you read was trying to trash the movie, I enjoyed it.

You know for some people when they say a movie is going to be good some of us put acting into account.

I love me some action but I don't have a bad acting scene= 10 explosions ratio. I think that it is frikin hilarious that some people do and then are suprised that others dont accept it. I think it more like the Flames score 6 goals a game so everybody is really happy with them but they give up 8 every night.

I dont have many movies in my good category that have bad acting but with lots of action.

Have you seen the movie? I thought a few scenes looked odd, due to the acting, other scenes were a little better. But overall, it was pretty good, for an action movie. It was very well done.

So if action gets a 9/10 and acting gets a 4/10, is it a bad movie?

Who in this thread has watched it? I haven't seen too many movies in the last ten years, but I liked this one. My buddies enjoyed it as well, and like I said earlier one is a cop the other a veteran.

I really didn't see anything about propaganda, except for maybe the fact the soldiers have really cool weapons.

Best movie at the box office over the weekend.

Apparently most people disagree with SeeBass.

A lot of people put the movie down, did they ever wind up seeing it? Or was this simply a drive by smear?

Speaking of that. I often wondered if a president in his first few days would be silly enough to ask...so.whats up with area 51 and aliens?

I do know that on his first day as President when Carter was briefed on the emergency evacuation orders that the Air Force General basically told him that Marine one could be on the White House lawn in under 5 minutes.

Carter demanded that they throw a drill and he wanted the helicopter there now. Unfortunately Marine one was undergoing repairs and couldn't make it which lead to all kinds of embarresment.

What's the "battle realism hardness" on it? I know Battle: LA was suppose to be given pretty accurate feeling to battle, but it felt silly (especially as they got closer and closer to the ending). We Were Soldiers was pretty good in this regard, though Gibson was a bit humerous at times.

so they didn't have a backup helicopter? when they worked on Marine One, were they just hoping that nothing bad happens until it's fixed?

At the time, from what I read, Marine one was down for maintenance, they didn't have a Marine 2 helicopter for the Presidents use. MArine one at the time was very expensive and very specialized. I believe now that they have Marine one and alternate one but I'm not sure about that.

It was actually one of the bright spots for Carter as far as I'm concerned.

I saw this last weekend.... the acting is pretty bad but the movie was entertaining. Every movie I see doesn’t have to be some film festival, award winning flick. I’d say it was worth the $10 admission fee if you enjoy action movies.
