Quite the opposite, actually. The NLL is very much a minor league. And in minor leagues, playoff attendance is often lower than the regular season average. In fact, of the four games this weekend, Calgary was the only one ABOVE their regular season average.
This year's playoff games:
Colorado: 14,152 (15,239 regular season average)
Calgary: 11,161 (8313)
Toronto: 9472 (11,173)
Rochester: 5176 (6833)
Calgary announced 10,125 for the West final last year, and 10,092 for the west semi. And those were Brad Bannister's inflated attendance totals. Officially, Calgary's attendance was down 20%, but the Flames stated at mid-season that paid attendance was actually up. Bannister's attendance numbers were total fabrications.
