I'm originally from Tucson, Arizona but chose to leave my home there and travel to California to acquire marijuana.
...or...
My initials are BAK, and many years ago, I was looking for web-design work and thought it would be clever to create a portfolio web site called "GetBAK". So, then I started using the user name everywhere too.

I'm a goaltender. If defenseman are blueliners, than goaltenders must be........well, goaltenders. Yeah, doesn't make any more sense now than it did then.
It would be hilarious to see what would happen if the mods let everyone choose a new handle. It would be a complete circus trying to follow this place and figure out who was who.

I have a fetish for patio lanterns, particularly of the green colour.

Mine is a double entendre that I've had since the Ivory BBS days on the Commodore 64.
I like hanging out on political discussion groups, particularly ones with a slant to the right, and arguing my left-ish slant, so I'm usually playing the devil's advocate.
But I also I am a long-time Devils fan, thus an advocate of the New Jersey Devils.

I picked it when I was going to high school in Weiser, Idaho. Weiser Wonder was Walter Johnson's nickname when he pitched for Weiser way back when. So I decided it was a solid name that went beyond FlamesAreAwesome123324 or whatever.
I wish I could change it. I think that should be allowed for people who created their name while they were still in high school.

I am a big fan of Jim Rome. Long time listener 0 time caller.
You could say it was an homage to him, but really I just stole it.

Not viable as a poll but what would you guys who don't like your usernames pick now if you could change it?

I'd totally steal the name Super Nintendo Chalmers. I have CP seniority over him, so...yeah.

All my fellow history nerds seem to be vanishing from this place. Agamemnon/Antithesis sighting, anyone?

The name comes from a Michael A. Stackpole character in his "Dark Glory War" series, where a character takes the name "Resolute" to define his unwavering desire to redeem his homeland.
For me, it represents a promise to myself not to let demons I have battled get the better of me. Like the character in the book, I will not yield. The 14 should be obvious... added only because someone registered "Resolute" and made like 3 posts... just enough that the Mods wouldn't let me usurp the name.

Many years ago a friend used to bug me that I introduced myself as Schteve when I'd have a few drinks in me. For a lot of user names Schteve is not taken while Steve is. I somehow added the 'D', the first letter of my last name, and it has stuck as a username for many, many sites and even my e-mail address!

Based on the Robert Frost Poem
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
So basically stay golden (young) in spirit as much as you can.

I also took my name after a Robert Frost poem. Or maybe I didn't. Honestly, I can't remember as far back as 2005.

Electronic music artist. Liked the name, started using it in my Quake 2 days, and it has stuck with me since.

I always assumed it was from The Outsiders, where Darry/Dally/Sodapop or whoever it was told Pony Boy to stay golden.

I'm from the prairies and love it here. Except for the winters. I was loaded at the time and miss spelt it.
I've had to explain that few times over the years and took a few good natured shots over it as well. If it was changed now to the correct spelling I'd probably never be able to log in again.
I'd change it all together if I could.
