They also have a guy who has played in a national championship game before in Chris Allen, they could be very dangerous.

Interesting. I actually like Texas in that game. I don't see Cincinnati shoot at the clip they did against Syracuse and they were far from playing well in the final against Louisville. Plus I'm buying in big time to that Iowa St win. EDIT: I guess the main reason is that I don't like Mick Cronin.

Couldn't ask for a better draw for WVU. Gonzaga an hour away from campus is as good as I could ask for and not to get ahead of things... Ohio State isn't the team we think they are. They lose a lot.

Really looking forward to:

WVU vs. Gonzaga

1 UConn/Iowa State and then the next matchup with Kentucky.
2 Wichita State/ VCU
3 Baylor / UNLV*
4 Memphis vs. Michigan State*
5 NM/LBst
6 Michigan/Temple*
7 Murray State/Marquette*
8 Cincy/Texas

They've been playing well, however they don't have the lineup inside to hit Texas at it's weakness. Only one really good big man and not very deep inside. I don't necessarily think Texas wins this, but it's neither an easy win or a sure loss. I think it will be a great game.

So I took a couple days off this week to go to SXSW. However, now that it's here I am strongly considering just going to my local sports bar and watching the tourney all day. I am kinda tired of SXSW so I might skip it this year and the tourney makes it easy to do. I love March Madness. Honestly, this should be the most watched sporting event in the world.

Yep it is always so much fun to watch. Some games just don't go to form and turn into very exciting contests. Upsets, crazy crowds, Cinderella teams, great matchups--really it has it all.

Adjust your brackets accordingly , Fab Melo has been ruled ineligible for the tourney.

That's a big blow for Cuse, their only loss was without him in the lineup. I was hoping they'd make a bit of a run as a lot of my friends are Syracuse natives, and they throw great tournament parties.

The Orangman are going to have a tough time coming out of the East now missing the bigman.

We're better than a play-in team and we feel slighted by the NCAA. So to prove our worthiness we're just going to phone this one in and wander the court not giving a damn.

Sincerely,
Cal Basketball

Very excited - my ticket to Session 1 in Greensboro just arrived. Going to see Creighton (former employer) and UNC (current employer) each play. Now I have to find a way to get a ticket for Sunday to watch them play each other if they both win.

Pac-12 is now a mid major basketball conference. Only team in from now on will be the conference champ. What an embarassment...

I'm not sure that you can make that assessment going forward, they were bad the last few years but could very well step back up again in a few years. They had 6 teams in the tournament in 2008 and 2009, with UCLA going to the final in 2008.

There is plenty of regional talent, it's more of an issue of incredibly poorly managed programs. Any conference with the likes of UCLA, Arizona and Stanford has the ability to be elite, it's not like there's a shortage of money.

Let's hope so. And I say that as someone who picked Syracuse to win it all on my bracket.

You picked them to win it all????? Crazy.

Anyways, I don't see them losing today as they are only down 4 but Ohio State or Vanderbilt should come out of that region.

Our picks are only for pride, and I don't do any research at all really.

We tend to see at least one 1-16 game that is pretty close at the half every year before the favorite pulls away. That said, one year the upset is going to happen and with Cuse losing Melo this could be it.
