Shouldn't you be packing up the chuckwagon to move back to perogytown?

Also keep in mind that a lot of kids are simply vapid. I was talking to my sister in law who is in her mid 20's and works in the music/concert field. When I asked her to let me know when Neil Young was coming around town, she asked me who that was.

I dunno about you guys, but I didn't have to grow up with the Beatles or Buddy Holly to know who they are. Frankly, most of my favorite music was made before I was born.

I felt a little old the first time I dated a girl who was young enough to biologically be my daughter.

Then I realized how awesome my life is.

I hope heaven is a giant arcade (not that crap you see at theatres) with all of the old classic cabinets and pinball machines. At this rate my sons will learn about them in a museum. Old.

Trying to keep up with the young whippersnappers on my rec hockey team that are half my age.

And failing at it.

I went to my girlfriends University Convocation this year, and one of her friends said "Your dad looks pretty young!". Didn't know if I should take that as a compliment or an insult.

Then I realized how awesome my life is.

Selling my collection of LP records to a collector.

Finding a box of 8 track tapes while cleaning out the garage.

Seeing a Ford Pinto the other day and realising it looked like the first car I owned.

One thing that makes me feel really old is when I think about how long I've been friends with some people and it's over 20 years.

Another thing is when I see pictures of myself in my late teens and early 20s. In my eyes, I haven't really changed much, but looking at those pictures, I was a skinny kid with more hair. I think I was about 160lbs in high school and now I'm 220. I know I've got a bit of a gut, but I never really noticed that my face and arms and hands everything are just bigger. And my hair. Lol. I'm not going bald or anything, but It's starting to retreat. It sure doesn't look the same as 10-15 years ago. Now it all grows on my face instead. I remember trying to grow a goatee when I was 18. I'd have probably traded a nut to be able to grow a badass beard in high school. Now I'd trade a nut to not have to shave.

Then there's cars and trucks. I remember my first job at a gas station back in high school. All us guys thought the new Dodge Ram looked soo badass. Now those 94s and 95s look like pieces of junk.

I saw Star Wars in its first run in theatres. I robe my bicycle to see Raiders of the Lost Ark, and a bunch of friends piles in a car and went to see Back to the Future.

Then you start hearing about how this movie or that show is having its 25 year anniversary. Celebrities that I remember being young now look their ages. Athletes I watched in the height of their careers don't look athletic at all and do commercials for things like Grecian Formula.

Even doing the "half your age plus 7" thing means most of the young stars are too young.

And I still have half my life left to go!

Yeah, I realized this summer that this will be the first season that I'm older than every player on the Flames.

This also reminds me of back in 2007 during the Ducks run, looking at Niedermayer's grey beard and thinking how old he looked, so I looked him up and discovered that he's actually about 2 weeks younger than me.

I saw Stars Wars at Flames central, when Flames Central was a movie theatre.

In Northland Mall Futureshop over the noon hour surrounded by high school students made me feel freakishly old. Yes I'm buying a hockey video game. No I won't have time to play it until next week. Who let you out of the house dressed like that?
