Poorly written, they rushed Ashton's character in the show, background stories and stuff in roughly 15minutes..
We'll see how it evolves.

I find the "it was poorly written" complaint hilarious. 2.5 men is and always has been a poorly written show, I don't see how last night was any different.

It wasnt funny once Ashton appeared in the episode. I have my doubts this show is going to last the year. They should have had Berta inherit the house, you could have still called it Two and a half men!

I only have seen Two and a Half Men off and on but I decided to watch the premiere last night. They really went overboard on the laugh track and it wasn't a good episode.
I have to disagree with Big Bang Theory. Great show. Losing the laugh track would be a good idea though.

I honestly don't notice laugh tracks anymore when watching sitcoms. They're like white noise to me.

That was awful...basically consisted of one joke: Ashton Kutchner is better looking than John Cryer.

Yeah it alright, I am not sure I liked they way they took Kutchner's character.
Kutchner is better when he isn't really acting and just plays himself as the ######/playboy character. He just isn't believable as the pouty/depressed character since he is not that good of an actor.
Although I have a feeling the storyline will grow him into the Billionaire playboy character.

Jake; still farting and talking about food. That joke is a bit played out IMO.
Thought Ashton was pretty bad.
This is the year I stop watching Two and a Half Men and The Office entirely.

I wonder what the gender demographic is for this show's fans.
If it's mostly men, then they blew it casting Kutcher. Guys like Charlie Sheen. Guys think Kutcher is a ######.
If they wanted male viewers, they should have cast someone else guys like, like Chuck Norris or Sean Connery. I don't know how they could have made it make sense, but I know I would have been more likely to tune for these guys than Kutcher.
I'm guessing they did their market testing on audiences primarily consisting of young women. They don't seem to have much of a ######-barometer.

Rose said that he had proposed to her in Paris, and they had several great days together, then she found him in bed with another woman. And then he accidently fell in front of an incoming train and 'exploded like a balloon filled with meat'.

I thought it was fine. I think they started Kutcher off as depressed and will have him basically turn into Charlie and the show will be basically the same as it was.
I'll still be watching.

If they were targeting women, they missed that mark as well. At leqst, according to my gf. She was not impressed with the long hair and the beard.

You know if they had used Chuck Norris and the first episode was him beating Jon Cryer to a bloody pulp for over thirty minutes, then it would have been the greatest show ever made.

The problem is that Two and a Half Men was basically written around Charlie Sheen, to the point that an alternate title could have been The Charlie Show.
I see the show gone after the season unless they really turn it around.

Alan was still the best part of the show and the only reason I will continue to watch.

Lousy episode, stupid premise badly cast, probably gone fairly quickly, chuck lorre not being an idiot.
They'd have been better off moving the mother in with them and used that for comedic tension rather than replacing Charlie, maybe find her a younger wasteral drunken boyfriend.
