Default Who is Bryn Griffiths

I think his resume is quite impressive actually. Kerr only has four days left he was saying on the radio this afternoon.

Can't say I'm a big fan of Steinberg, hopefully he doesn't get a larger role then he already has. They guy is knowledgeable no doubt, but I can't stand how he talks in circles in an attempt to fill airtime. I also hate MMA, but that's a whole other topic.

If this guy(Griffiths)talks about the Oilers one more time on Flames radio I am going to scream..He loves them, he should of stayed in Edmonton as far as I'm concerned..He can't stop comparing other teams to the Oilers..Get over it man.

I like him so far. Easy to listen to. But Steinberg is patronizing as hell when they're on the air together.

I really agree with other comments about listening to the morning and afternoon shows is comparable to listening to a couple of guys chatting on the phone about what interesting things they ate for lunch and thinking it is amusing for other people to listen to. Fan960 really needs to strive for some coherency in its programming. Mike Richards was zany and off the wall, but he seemed well-prepared and had interesting interviews. This is just... guys trying to wing it most of the time in a very hit/miss way.

I do like the after hours broadcasts though with Steinberg with the phone ins.

He definitely has a tendency to bring the Oilers into a lot of conversations, that bothers me. But when he manages to leave them out of it he is ok to listen to.

I would like to see them get someone else.

Agreed. Griffiths and Steinberg have about as much chemistry as Jokinen and Iginla.

Agreed. I spent 45 minutes in traffic yesterday and listened to him blather on repeatedly about the Oilers. This is consistent with the guy and annoying as frakk.

Between Griffiths and Steinberg (the most infuriatingly boring person on radio) that afternoon show is unbearable. I've switched over to 660 News. Sure it's boring an monotonous (Steinberg), but at least they talk about CALGARY.

Griffiths is the radio equivalent of oatmeal. He's Flanders. I used to hate on Boomer and Kerr in the afternoon because they would bicker like 13 year old boys, but I might actually prefer that to the complete lack of edge that Griffiths brings. I like Steinberg. He is youngish and relatively hip compared to the other old hands working at the station. I would like to see Pat's cohort be someone he could better relate too, rather than someone completely out of his demographic.

If you moved to Edmonton, your perspective and knowledge base would come with you. That being much from Calgary. Bryn has spent the last 30 years in Edmonton and plugged into the Edmonton sports scene. Be patient as he acclimates to his new environment. That said, he is kind of bland anyway. With Steinberg you at least know where he stands, Griffiths seems to take his cue from the consensus of the folks he's with and then goes with them.

The entire afternoon team blows. I don't know which of the two is worse.

I maintain that Tencer would have been a better option. I mean even if he did talk about the Oilers, at least Tencer has edge. Bryn has the on air personality of toast.

Honestly, Rhett has been one of the lone bright spots in the entire Rogers Sportsnet pantheon. I swear, Walker is like Eeyore. Every time I hear him, I picture this guy.

I can't listen to the afternoon shows anymore - Griffiths is just soooo bland and comes across to me as phony. He has his schtick as "good ol' boy down" I guess but he doesn't seem to bring a lot to the table knowledge-wise (which you couldn't say about Kerr). Listening to the Flames pre-game shows it always sounds to me like Mike can hardly stand Bryn & his lack of actual insight/thought on the game.

The only reason I ever listen to the Fan now is for mornings when Rhett is on...otherwise I'd rather just listen to music - and I used to have the Fan on constantly before this.

Exactly!!!

With Kerr coming from Edmonton it didn't matter he quickly fit in and provided actual hockey insight.

This Bryn character is an Oiler mouthpiece. He has the Oiler secret decoder ring, the Oiler 4 Life tatoo on his butt, The Copper and Gold runs through my veins that honestly Flames Fans should have to put with on a Calgary Sports show.

Bryn's Oiler and Eskimo love seeps in his anti Calgary slighted comments frequently.

I seriously hope that Kelly Kirsch has a sit down with him to knock that shlat off.

I have stopped listening to his segments. He makes me puke.
