Crazy draw. I don't mind though, I'd probably rather play City over 2 legs then just in a final.

Oh, I agree, my only beef is that if Liverpool make it, they're going to lose to a Championship team.
They'll get up to play against Chelsea, City and United, but cant beat smaller teams.
Today Fergie was too arrogant and Palace put on a huge performance.

Soft red card in the Manc derby. Totally changed the complexion of the game. I know you united fans will be saying it was two footed so he had to go but, come on, you'd be pissed if it was against your team. Nani didn't even ponce around, or cry, which is incredible. Rooney did however and might have 'influenced' the decision somewhat. Is that allowed under the FA's rules or is there a special amendment in place for certain teams?
Also, while on the subject, I'm totally expecting the FA to charge City for failing to control their players given their protests after the red card. After all they seemed to protest a little more than the Liverpool players in the Fulham match and Liverpool received a hefty fine for that. Looking forward to seeing the FA being consistent as they always are.
Bitter, me? Nah. Pretty amused actually.

Had to laugh at the FA cup draw too. Liverpool vs United! Oh how much fun that one will be. The FA must be absolutely delighted at the prospect of even more suspensions, fines, and independent committees.
Really looking forward to this one!

Soft red card? Arguably. Did he leave his feet and lunge in two-footed? Yes. Does that sort of behaviour carry a risk of a red card? Always. Does it matter whether or not he played the ball first in a two footed lunge? Not at all. That Nani was able to hurdle it has no bearing on the decision.
Having said that, I felt it was slightly harsh. Tough one for the ref though given that it would be considered a highly volatile game. Let it go and a precedent has been set for mayhem.
IMO them sort of tackles are reckless and dangerous and the only way to minimize them from the game is to straight red them everytime. Problem has been inconsistencies in the application of the law. FA needs to clarify this grey area with a simple statement that all two footed lunges = red. Not a hope in hell that City's appeal succeeds given Milaja's recent failure.
Agreed on Rooney though. Not a fan of that sort of behaviour.
As for the city players protesting I expect no fine given that .... well you know .... they're not Liverpool and everyone and his dog knows there is a massive FA conspiracy against them. Play the victim ..... become the victim.
Anyways, onwards to Anfield where I'll expect at the very least a couple of penalties. Nothing less .....
That whole Scholes thing was just surreal. One of Fergie's strangest decisions in his long tenure and one that very nearly came back to bite him badly.

Poor poor Liverpool. Always so hard done by. The conspiracy really gets to some people. Liverpool and the Canucks are so similar in that regard.
Bad red card. All around poorly officiated game and it ruined it.
But Jagger, why didn't you mention the missed penalty United should have had? Did you conveniently miss that? Just as you conveniently didn't post in the other thread during the Suarez/Evra incident. Why didn't you post about that anyways? Is it because you support his actions?

Other possible 4th round games of interest.
The NE derby. Sunderland/Middleborough.
and a possible meeting of John Terry and Anton Ferdinand on the weekend before Terry's court case should QPR get past MK Dons.
Watford/Spurs might as well be considered a derby.

That's just being ridiculous. Nobody is supporting his actions, we (or at least I was) were questioning what his actions actually were. And it is even more ridiculous to say he supports him simply because he didn't post about it.

United,
Thanks for replying. Always nice to hear from you.
Sicker than a dog for a few weeks there and a number of my kids were before and after that too. It was a real puke fest around here so there was little time, or inclination, to post here. For the record I would never support a racist act. Thanks for implying that I would though. Nice. I appreciate that.
I don't actually believe that there is an FA conspiracy against Liverpool. I just think that they're a bunch of incompetent fools. I will be very interested to see if they discipline City though as they did argue at least as much as the Liverpool players did. Good measuring stick.
As for the Suarez affair. Stupid incident that was very poorly handled all around. Suarez, who I don't believe is racist by the way, needs to grow up, shut up, stay on his feet, and just play football as he is an excellent player when he wants to be. Close to world class IMO.
Sorry that I didn't mention the denied penalty either. Inconviently I didn't actually get to watch the match. Saw the highlights and that incident wasn't included. Sorry about that. I'm sure it should have been a pen though. Tough break there.
I wonder if Evra will play at Anfield or will he sustain a freak training ground strain just before the match. Ooh another conspiracy theory. Look out they're everywhere!!!
Congrats on the win, united.....

Quit being an ass.
The Suarez incident is stupid. Whether he said it or not, it was handled so poorly and its a strictly hearsay argument anyways, with something so inflammatory and evidence so flimsy it would be anyone's right to abstain.
As for the FA 'failure to control' charges, theres a right to comment on that. If you fine Liverpool for players surrounding the referee after a card thats fine, but then you have to fine everyone, they've set their precedent and now they have to stand by it. If they dont then its deserved criticism for being inconsistent regardless of who does it.
I know it must be nice to have a team where everything goes according to plan all the time, but the rest of us actually enjoy the game.

it wasn't hearsay
he admitted to saying the word, kenny admitted to it, the other liverpool players testimony was so full of contradictions it was clear to see who was lying
and the way the club, kenny, and a very vocal group of their fans was extremely poor

Hint of offside about it, but brilliant control and a super finish.
Chamakh will never get the goal scoring record with Henry scoring again.
