On that note, I'm heading to the US next weekend and the fried chicken at Albertson's is cheap and super delicious. Puts Canadian fried chicken to shame IMO.
I cringe however when I think about how unhealthy it probably is

I have a sudden need to know who owns Chicken-On-The-Way and if they have an e-mail. Wondering if anyone can help out.
PM me and thanks in advance.

No, I have an eight foot tall, 400 lb Rooster I can market that seems to bear an uncanny resemblance to their own in Calgary . . . . . and I see they have various franchises around that might not have one.
I could just call them up but a visual in an e-mail first might be better.

Why did you enter a draw for a giant rooster?

We are having a draw where an eight foot, 400 lb Rooster is one of three choices from which the holder of the winning ticket can pick.
The winning ticket has a choice of one (1) of 1) Reggie the Rooster, 2) a 1978 3/4 ton truck that was sitting in a field for five years but ran the other day on the gas that was left in the tank back then and 3) a $2,500 donation made to Breast Cancer Research.
So far, judging from comments from ticket buyers, the Rooster is leading by a long shot as the first choice and the truck is picking up steam. That's fairly smart from a mercenary point of view because the Rooster is worth about $3,000. He was donated to us by a volunteer.
Pretty funny. He's been in a few of the local papers already.
Last year, we raffled a 1950 Massey Harris 44 Tractor named Millie that gained media attention throughout the province and raised $10,000 for a good cause . . . . . and that's Millie in the picture on the right after she was given back to us by the winner.
Its all for a good cause and folks are having fun with it. But it might be nice to draw Chicken On The Way into it.

Okay, well, here's an update. I decided to visit the Fritou Chicken and Olive Chicken. I would have to say both were very good, and different in their own ways.
Fritou is pretty similar to KFC, except that it has a bit of an extra cayenne or flavour in the seasoning. Olive's was good as well. I tried the half/half. Both restaurants passed the next day, cold chicken taste tests. The Olive one with the sauce, that seemed really close to tasting like ginger beef, except on chicken, lost its crispness, but the regular chicken still retained the crunch. I don't know if the chunks of pickled daikon will replace a corn fritter, but it will do.

Just phone the owner, Russ Dunn. Most people I know just delete the emails where they are offered a chance at having an enormous ####.

You might have to change your handle to "Horseperson" if this rumour gets out there...

Yep, coming home from camping last weekend I had the GPS set to Claresholm just in case I was too early for chicken in Coleman.
The first time I made a detour for the chicken my fiancee thought I was nuts. This time she woke from her sleep enough to see me pulling into a 7-11; closed her eyes and muttered "make sure you get one for me too."

I am intrigued by this Claresholm chicken.
I am even more intrigued as to why one would need a GPS to find Claresholm.

From Coleman- I wasn't sure if I should head to Highway 2; or go up 22 for a while before going east.
