1 - Dont buy an engagement ring unless you are 100% sure you will ask

2 - Dont throw said engagement ring into the pacific ocean when you last minute decide she isnt the one - especially when it is refundable

Oh man, agreed. Back then I thought that was just Year One of me spending 2 months down there for the next few seasons. Not to mention the atmosphere was totally different the next go-round, in '06. Took too much of a page from Edmonton's violent immitation from then on it seemed (scraps, taunting cops, etc).

I'm not sure that could ever be duplicated again, that was just a magic time here. In hindsight its amazing how safe & friendly the atmosphere down there was that year, considering the sheer volume of people there. Everyone couldn't even believe we had made the playoffs again finally, let alone going to game 7 of the SCF, and were in good partying moods. Some of my all-time best memories.

I wish I had realized the importance of enunciation when jokingly referring to my mother as a horder during a speech at my brother's wedding.

How to talk to girls in high school.

Apparently they are actually quite easy to talk to. Who knew.

I wish I'd forgiven my inner nerd sooner. DnD, Star Trek, computer games... awesome.

Nah. I have managed to figure out that society really doesn't like old guys creeping on young girls.

That the best thing I ever could of done was drop out of school when I was 16 and hit the road.

I wish I knew how easy it was to have confidence in myself when I was a kid

Additionally I wish I knew the power of a little self deprecating humour in junior high/elementary school. I had no idea that if I made fun of myself for being a skinny, wimpy, nerd that no one would care and think it was funny as opposed to being bullied endlessly. (I don't have four eyes, I have 2 time optical, 2 times digital zoom!)

But I do like to think I'm wise enough to know that I have the personal growth and wisdom that I currently have because of being bullied, and my failures in life.

Wait. This seems to me be precisely the kind of knowledge gained over time that you should currently be deploying.

That my dad was going to die unexpectedly in 2006. Definitely would have made it home for one more golf game, maybe even try to have kids earlier so he could have met his grandson.
