HD TV is better than sitting where TV cameras obstruct your vision of some of the ice, there is constantly people walking in the walkway between rows 3 and 4 during play, and you can't even see the jumbotron. Any arena built past 1990 doesn't have seats as poor as these and I rufuse to have to shell out for 45 home dates in those POS seats to have to be part of a 'club' to be able to move into the second bowl.

On the other hand I would gladly accept and pay for white seats ahead of all the people who are turning down whites in order to get Orange, and greens.
That's your right - and I don't disagree that those upper deck seats are far from ideal.

The question is how badly do you want season tickets? Right now the team sucks, and you're probably going to have an easier time than at any point since 2004. If you want to roll the dice and keep waiting, hoping you get offered something good, then so be it. But it can be a 3 year wait (or it was for Malcolm). And if the Flames become a hot ticket, you're going to be looking at a much longer wait.

If you want to get to your "optimal" seating as soon as possible, I'd say buy the bad seats, sell them off during the season if you don't want them, but get yourself listed as a STH as quickly as possible. After that, life gets much easier.

Plus, you'll want to be in on the ground floor for the new building when it comes.

I am the newest member of section 215! Last year was about 140 on the hot house list.

Does anybody know how many rows are in section 215? The top of the section is a bit funky as it cuts up around the end of the 2nd level box suites. Any insight would be appreciated! I am too excited to wait and see.

I still find going to the games > not going to the games. I have seasons in section 306 row 5 and love them. Sure the sightlines aren't the greatest but I can watch the play develop and keep an eye on players - things I can't do watching on even the biggest screen TV.

There is only one row in front of me and it is usually unoccupied so I don't have to worry about people blocking my view. Plus I am almost directly at center ice.

The atmosphere of a hockey game is simply amazing. I never cease to be awed by it, I rarely ever got to go to games as a child and therefore try to never take that experience for granted.

I was on the wait list for lower bowl seats and was offered the "while you wait" seats last season. I have since taken myself off the wait list and chosen to keep these seats permanently with the hope of moving into the first 3 rows at some point. At the end of the day even in the "Press Level" I am still watching the same hockey game in the same building as the people with better seats, and saving tons of $$$ in the process.

And IMO going to a hockey game is better than not going to one. Even having just moved, I am hanging onto my season ticket rights and just selling the games to a buddy, so I can come back for the playoffs

Just my .02

wow I signed up one year after you (this will be my 3rd year coming up) and I started at like 850, then last year I was 500+ ....I think it'll be awhile before I get offered.

Thinking maybe I should have went for 300 level tiks first since I'm not even sure I can afford them right now. Then I can relocate down to 200's when I am able

I haven't gotten anything yet. No emails or shipping notice. I'm guessing mine will be coming in a week or so.

Got mine today. Every ticket has a QR code to be scanned by your smartphone 24hrs before puck drop.

I heard from an inside source that tickets are pretty ugly this year. Truth?

What does the QR code do I wonder? If it's a digital ticket I'll flip. Couldn't you take a photo of each ticket, make a master pdf and then stick the pdf in your dropbox? Might be a great alternative to trying to keep track of my tickets (which I'm terrible at).

Yeah, I hate to whine about it, but the tickets are very plain this year. No photos, just team logos. A lot of white space. Some might say it's a "cleaner design", but I prefer the tickets to look like a hockey card or a keepsake. These are not nearly as nice as prior years.

The QR code is only to link you to a "special online section of the website with offers, promotions, contests and behind the scenes content". Each code is active 24 hours before puck drop and remain active 24 hours after the game.

Agreed. I like that they used a ring binder idea this time. The book of tickets should stay together nicely so you can keep it as a memento after pulling out all of the tickets.

When I first opened it up, I thought I got 4 sets of tickets until I looked more closely. I wish the design on the tickets was as little bit more like last years. The white is overwhelming on the the tickets.

The Jets' tickets seems to be void of a logo.

I wish. But then Ticketmaster wouldn't get their cut for e-tickets or whatever they have.

They're a lot more plain than they have been in recent years. Just the team logos and game info. No photos or anything.

When I was a kid, the tickets were just the Flames logo, opponent's name, the date and time. Compared to that, this year's are a masterpiece.

I predict that within five years, they won't even send out physical tickets by default anymore. I'd love for them to go with e-tickets and a bar code I can use from my phone.

It's also strange to see the Budweiser logo on the back of the tickets.

My buddy works at the shop where they are printed. We were chatting a couple of weeks ago and he mentioned how ugly they were. He thought they screwed something up the first time he saw them.

I wouldn't say the tickets are ugly, but they are definitely plain looking.

They clearly forgot to add the background.
