I feel so bad for little Cooper. Poor guy had to witness that live. Just an awful situation.

This is so bad in so many ways I don't know where to start. I mean Josh Hamilton could have turned around and whipped the ball at the guy like a jerk and he'd be better off for it, or just ignored him. Than you have the poor kid, having to see that. Just tragic.

I swear Josh Hamilton had to have made a deal with the Devil to get his Baseball skills for the stuff thats happened to him. I mean he tries to be a good guy, and the absolute worst result you couldn't imagine occurs.

I know the Rangers said they offered counselling to any of their players, and I sincerely hope that Josh Hamilton is given every opportunity to receive any help he needs. Who knows what it would take for him to relapse into past behaviour.

And then he fouls a ball off that hits and bloodies a fan tonight, fortunately the guy was okay but geez, couldn't imagine the thoughts in his head seeing that with what's already on his mind. He's saying all the right things about knowing it was an accident etc., but it's still gotta be hard. Just a terrible situation all around.

Honestly, I don't know if it's because of my advancing age, or because of having two boys aged 3.5 and 9 months, but this story has hit me pretty hard. As previously said on the board, when you have kids, these stories for a split second turn into your world. You're the dad, the kid is your kid.

I lived that in my head after seeing Jay Onrait announce the death last night. What killed me was the quote from one of the relief pitchers for Oakland saying the kid was calling for his dad while the paramedics checked on him.

All he wanted to do was catch the ball for his son. Also read they stopped somewhere before the game to get the little guy a glove.

Such a tragedy.
