Evergreen is like any other new neighborhood in Calgary which is fine. But the commute is long.

If that doesn't work out you could check out some of the townhouses in Greenview. It's in the NE but on the good side of Deerfoot . I used to live in a 3 bedroom in this complex and it was great. Quick access to downtown by bus or car. Looks like a 2 bedroom is available for rent.

Yeah, that does look nice and much quicker to downtown. We are kind of finalizing the other property though, so I guess we will see what happens.

We decided against the one in Evergreen. Too far from downtown and too many other little issues that would cause problems down the road I think.

I can't believe though out of all the rental properties, how many don't allow pets and how many simply don't respond to email or answer the phone. Why have an ad if you are not going to answer the phone? Or even return messages? Ugh.

I lived in Wildwood for ten years . . . . basically Spruce Cliff as well. Nice area for being close to the pathways for running and biking out of Edworthy. The Spruce Trail is right there on the cliff as well. Only a few minutes from downtown. Older neighbourhoods. Some outdoor rinks there and you can cross country ski on the golf course in the winter. Very easy to get out of the city and to the mountains from there.

Been in Calgary for a couple of days now. Wow...culture shock...LOL. Yup, sure is different than Edmonton. Feels much more like a big city. Staying at my mom's right now before we get our new place and my wife moves down in a little over a week. Driving to my new job downtown from Strathmore is not fun. Thankfully I won't have to do it for long.

Sure is good to be home again...

Hey OilKiller,

Welcome back! I actually live in Bridlewood right now (right across from Evergreen), and I will agree that the commute is pretty long if you work downtown. Love the community though.

Im moving closer to the core, but I find traffic in Calgary is pretty terrible anywhere.

Thanks! Yeah, I was going to get a place in Evergreen, but everyone said way too long of a commute. I thought it would be easy, but now after seeing just a little bit of what MacLeod Trail is like, I`m pretty glad we decided on a place closer to the core.

Stupid of them not to call people back. With the pets though, anyone who's ever had to remove cat-pee saturated carpet will be less likely to rent to someone with pets next time... Or they just charge a premium. Because so many landlords won't take pets, there is definitely a premium rent charged by places that do.
