Defining Moments in History: Where were you?

- OJ trial verdict - At school, don't remember caring too much.
- Princess Diana death - In my basement watching TV, flipped a couple channels and noticed that they said she had died. I remember thinking...this is a joke right?
- 9/11 - On a train to University, everyone around me started talking about some disaster. When we got to school, there were TVs carted out to MacHall and we all got to watch the horror.
- Canada hockey gold in Vancouver - Friend's house, not many were hockey fans, so I had the peace and quiet of raging when they tied it in the third.
- Gretzky trade - Was in Toronto, getting ready to move over.
- Flames eliminating the Canucks in OT, game 7, 2004 - At the University of Calgary in Scurfield watching the game. Ran around the campus trying to find Canucks fans.
- Challenger explosion - Don't remember
- 1st Iraq Gulf war - In school, a lot of teachers were just telling us about how crazy it all was.

I was working for NASA at the time. This day was actually a great relief, as I had just spent years ensuring that a time traveler with pre-knowledge of this event would not be interfering with my mission.

- 9/11 - Supermarket in Genoa buying cheap booze ahead of a flight to London later that day. My brother phoned me just as I was about to reach the front of the checkout.

- Canada hockey gold in Vancouver - In my livingroom watching on Eurosport

- Gretzky trade - Ireland - didn't find out abot it til two days later.

- Flames eliminating the Canucks in OT, game 7, 2004 - Watching on TV before heading off to work for the day. When the series started, I was staying at the Rimrock, when it ended, I was at home in London. Was in Barcelona when we knocked out the Wings.

- Challenger explosion - In Ireland, and had just got home from school and was watching the launch live.

- 1st Iraq Gulf war - Drunk and half asleep on my livingroom floor while trying to play Monopoly
