You know what really ties this series together? The music. Just that bit at the end of your clip atb reminded me. I'm not a country fan or a western fan really at all. I don't mind them, but I don't go out of my way to listen to country type music or watch westerns, but the western theme throughout Firefly is just done to perfection. The music throughout the entire series is just phenominal.
Thinking back, BSG sort of did the same thing because they had a very celtic sound to the music, and it worked very well for that series.
