Im mostly into trance and house/hard house, these some of my favorites that are good starting points for people looking to get into Electronic music. I found that searching for some of the BBC Radio1 Essential Mixes were great ways to get people into it and are all in all some great mixes to listen too.

And I envy anyone who has been or it going to a Sensation event, they look unreal.

I still can't believe someone called Benni and Armin house music.

Anyhow, I'm old school and there is only one artist that to this day stands out, he's chill, he's ambient/chill, but most importantly he is one of the great masters of this genre.

Chicane, far from the maddening crowds, put on the headphones and listen to the whole album uninterrupted. Reminds me of Brian Eno, but better and yes different.

Other than that, there has been a ton of great recommendations here, you should also check out DI.fm for some great trance music, especially the live shows fri/sat night (afternoons for you in north america.)

Sounds like electro house to me.

Related to this thread...deadmau5 was nominated for a Juno for Sofi Needs a Ladder. Good choice. I imagine he'll walk away with the award, unless Sofi's voice makes everyone hate the song. Go good Canadian artists!

EDIT: Song has crap audio quality unless you put it to 720p.

There is some electronica/drum and bass stuff that I enjoy. I am however not very immersed in this style... but I still have a few bands that I like, maybe you will too?

Nerve... a drum and bass band leaded by a drummer who is simply not from our planet.

Squarepusher

Boards of Canada

I was at Sensation White in Belgium in 2009 and it was awesome. Saw Armin van Buuren, Eric Prydz, Martin Solveig, Tocadisco and more. So much fun, it's an incredible spectacle and you'll have a great time in Prague.

I've discovered a ridiculous amount of awesome music listening to this: http://www.pigradio.com/

Not just electronic, but they play a lot of electro style tracks.

Pioneers of electronic?

Kraftwerk : The Robots
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXa9tXcMhXQ

KLF : Last Train to Transcentral
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hnYKTys8rU

Back to the future......
Deadmau5 : Raise your weapon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnwfTHpnGLY

QUESTION : who is singing this? Emilie Haines or Valerie Anne Poxleitner (Lights). I am sure it is one of the two?

Anyone mention Delphic yet?

Some great remixes of "Doubt" floating around including this one :

Macker great on you to mention KLF, the 1990 album from the Chill Out is to me one of the best albums in the genre. You had to listen to the entire CD from start to scratch, if your on 'something' it can't hurt either, very trippy CD.

Wikipedia says Greta Svabo Bech, whoever that is. Nice voice though.

The song itself is tough for me. Love the first half, iffy on the second half. I almost would have liked two separate songs...but I've always enjoyed deadmau5's more chill stuff the most.

Oh definitely, there are so many great remixes of Saltwater, my favorite being the thrillseekers:

Chicane recently remixed one of my favorite bands, Sigur Ros, if you haven't heard it:

Everyone I've introduced to Chicane, loves it. I've never had that kind of response to any other artist in my collection. In fact during a road trip from Calgary to Las Vegas a buddy of mine who is a metal guy listened to far from the maddening crowds and Behind the sun and absolutely loved both. In fact when we started driving into Arizona and the desert as you drive down those amazing roads twisting and turning downwards into the desert this song was just starting:
