Yeah, if this was a religious thing (which I kinda think it is anyway) it would definitely get the same amount of ridicule. It would probably be worse.

I mean we aren't even talking about NIMBY, because there is no backyard. They aren't saying "we don't want people dying in our backyard", which is in a way understandable, they are saying "the dead people will haunt us after they are gone", which is not understandable.
Okay, okay, people believe in ghosts, but their right to believe in ghosts doesn't extend beyond their own mind, let alone outside the building.
Real live human beings need hospices. Denying real live people a necessary service for something that doesn't exist is what's really unbelievable.
