As an aside, cats should not drink water out of plastic bowls. Believe it or not, it can lead to a condition called Feline Chin Acne which my old kitty got and was gross. The vet recommended using a glass bowl and that solved the problem.

They definitely can be, but so can some dogs.
A lot of cats I have met seem to be fascinated by a flushing toilet. Mine use to run in to the bathroom after you're done to watch the water swirl in the bowl.
When my family leaves for vacation we take our cat to the cat boarding place. That way we dont have to rely on family to take care of him. The last time we let my sister and brother in law take care of our cat, we came home to a computer full of porn.

Is this your cat by any chance:

Yep, not surprisingly, the food you give your cat has a massive impact on their quality (and longevity) of life. Feeding a cat grocery-store food is basically like taking them to McDonalds every-day. High quality food is expensive for sure, but feed them crap like Whiskas, and you'll end up paying for it one way or another down the line.
I don't know about that. That's all we have ever fed our cats and 3 of them have lived to be over 15 (1 over 20 and another still alive at 15) and they never had any real health issues until the end.
Anyway, back on the topic of giving your cat water, I have heard that a cat's kidneys are so efficient that they can hydrate drinking only seawater. Pretty amazing animal.

Yeah, we had a male cat that lived until 19 and ate nothing but dry Meow Mix.
My wife insists we feed the cat Max Cat, which started off as pet store food, but is now found in many grocery stores.

My cat is about 11 and has pretty much eaten Science Diet light for his whole life. He has never had any health issues other than the chin zits from the plastic bowl his food was in. Popping your cats zits and putting a cone around his neck was fairly gross. Use a glass or stainless steal bowl.

i've found the exact opposite. all the cats i've owned, as long as they had a litter box and food/water, were happy. dogs need to be walked and cleaned up after, they get anxious and depressed when left alone, a lot of them drool and stink, and they're a lot less hygienic than cats
