tailored man is ok, the cuts are a bit outdated and the fabric choices are overwhelmingly large for the environment you're put in.
I had to have a lot of adjustments to my suit through them, which seemed odd given how many measurements they take.
Shirts I was pretty pleased with, but their lifetime is reflected in the cost.

I think I am going to give indochino a try. Seems like they have excellent reviews. I have always wanted a custom fitted suit, and once I saw the included monogram on the inside of the jacket, I was sold.
Just don't know what to put on it though.

I've seen indochino suits turn out really well and some turn out terrible. I suggest reading the thread on style forum before you buy.
I would not buy another suit from them. I have a brooks brothers Fitzgerald I got on sale last January and you can defyingly tell which one is made in a Chinese factory with inferior materials and which one is made in the USA with Italian fabrics. The difference is night and day.
If you do go through with it don't say I didn't warn you.

I bought a couple MTM suits from Ed Williams Menswear in Crowfoot:

Great service and huge selection of fabrics. They will keep making modifications until you are completely satisfied. IIRC it was around $1000 for my custom Samuelsson and Copley suits. Also had a bunch of MTM dress pants (Copley) made from them for around $200 each which was a great deal.

I laugh when people say that 'off the rack suits don't fit me". It's a suit. It's supposed to be a tailored garment. You're not supposed to walk out with suit off the rack. Sure some fits and designers/labels may fit you better. But you can always tweek it.
It's places in the mall like RW & Co that sell 'suits' that make people think it's like buy a sweater at the Gap. Suiting isn't.

I have two pairs of cordovan shoes from Brooks Brothers that are absolutely stellar. A black pair of bluchers, and a burgundy pair of perforated captoes. They're made by Alden Shoe Company for BB. Very well made.

An expensive suit should be durable, made of a nice material (non-polyester looking), and have a modern cut that fits you well. It's a little hard to tell until you've had some experience wearing suits daily.

You forgot the most important one. Collar gap.

Cut and fit are essentially the same thing from a construction perspective (though obviously different from the perspective of the wearer). Not to mention, cut doesn't really differentiate a good suit from bad, only separates styles. Granted some styles are dated or otherwise inadvisable, but I can basically tell you whether the construction is objectively good or not, while I can only tell you whether I happen to like the cut.

Not sure if this has been mentioned in the thread yet as I didn't really have time to read all 4 pages, but if you have the cash I would suggest getting a ticket to India and getting your suits made.
I have a tailor that i can suggest to you if you like, PM me if interested.
You can get 3 suits tailor made for less than $500.
The flight to India from Calgary will cost you ~$1500 if you go in January or February.
In total with flights, hotels, food, and 3 suits you will pay less than you will for one suit here in NA.(assuming you are looking to spend ~$3000/suit).
Best part is, the tailor I use in India comes to Toronto 3 times a year and charges people well over $1,500 for each suit he tailors for them since that is what people are willing to pay over here.
