Source? Everything I am seeing says he’s suspended without pay while the investigation is ongoing. Semantics, but there is a distinction although I don’t think it will be long before he is fired.

I think at this point they are just taking their time to make sure they have to pay as little or none of that ridiculous contract they signed him to. No point in rushing it at this point as they aren't getting anyone win at this point to salvage the season and with the money involved makes sense to make sure you have everything lined up properly when you do fire him.
