This is from Daniel Austin's article yesterday in the Calgary Sun https://calgarysun.com/sports/footba...und-stampeders
"Finally, Sportsnet’s Arash Madani reported that while there had been no signatures on the dotted line, Stamps defensive co-ordinator DeVone Claybrooks will be named the new head coach of the B.C. Lions later this week."

Stamps QB coach Ryan Dinwiddie might be on the move as well...
The Toronto Argonauts asked for and received permission to interview Calgary Stampeders quarterbacks coach Ryan Dinwiddie for the Argos offensive coordinator job.

Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell was impressive in his workout with the Minnesota Vikings Wednesday, sources told TSN's Davis Sanchez.
Mitchell workout out in front of more than 20 Vikings coaches and staff including head coach Mike Zimmer. The 2018 CFL Most Outstanding Player threw exclusively to Ottawa Redblacks receiver Diontae Spencer, who was also working out for the team.

He's good as gone. If they have all the staff watching it means they are seriously looking at him. I wonder how many teams Mitchell will work out for before he makes a decision.

I haven't followed the NFL closely in awhile but I don't think you have to be 6'4, 220 lbs to get chance to play. If he can be accurate with the football and make quick, decisive throws, he'll have a chance to succeed.
Heck, I may have to jump back into the NFL if Mitchell signs somewhere -- last time that happened was when Brandon Browner was with the Seahawks and Patriots

I'm surprised that we got both kickers back.
Glad to see Power back as he's very good on the teams side, I'd like to see him get more offensive snaps and use him like a Rob Cote.
If you're bored, go back to the Horsemen Radio podcast that we did with Huff, besides getting basically socked in the jaw because one of our interviewers asked him about his NFL career, he does talk about how he negotiates contracts.

Uncertainty surrounding the CBA and the possibility that coaching salaries will be capped.

Corey Chamblin has been named head coach of the Toronto Argonauts. Still waiting on the official announcement of DeVone Claybrooks in BC.

Both the Stamps and Argos have won 6 Grey Cups in that time (Stamps 0-3 vs. Toronto).

Now he needs a quarterback -- <cough> Reilly -- and BC could be a solid team next year.
Do we promote Mace to DC? He's following in Claybrooks' footsteps but it's hard to tell what kind of impact he's had. Same with Bell.

I think the Eskies bringing back Maas is enough of an enticement for Reilly to stay in Edmonton. Of course, if Hervey gets the okay in BC to open up his wallet, you never know.
I'd be fine with promoting Mace to DC and hopefully Josh Bell remains with the Stamps.

I hope Claybrooks is ready to be a head coach. Like Jason Maas he's ascended pretty quickly from player to head coach and the verdict is still out on Maas.

Interesting to see how many former Calgary assistants are now HCs - BC, Sask, Toronto, and Ottawa.
