Belly is back. The group fronted by Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses and The Breeders will release a new album, Dove, on May 4, its first new music in 23 years.
Donelly paired the announcement with the release of the album's first single, "Shiny One," a shimmering, propulsive reflection on the universal struggle between good and evil.
New one from Yo La Tengo. Is it just me or is anybody else getting hit with 90s deja vu? Just in the last couple weeks, besides YLT, we've seen new songs released from Belly, The Breeders, Eels, Juliana Hatfield, L7, Stephen Malkmus, Sloan and They Might Be Giants.

You’re definitely right. There’s a New Buffalo Tom as well.

by far my favourite so far from the 4 songs he's released from the upcoming album.
Got the album yesterday - it's fantastic from start to finish. It's a concept album with the songs focusing on Myles' father who passed away when he was 4, he was a Christian Scientist and did not get any help for his condition. Going to see Myles at the Troubadour in May - so stoked for that show

Speedy Ortiz has gradually eschewed their blatant Pavement influences to the point they now sound like a completely different band from the one that released Major Arcana. I got into them initially because they were one of the better Pavement rip-off bands but this song is still pretty good.
