Yeah I disagree with the no goal call, but it was the middle of the first. Lets not blame the game on that

Jets are very good at blocking lanes. For the most part they are also very responsible defensively in terms of covering their assignments. It also helps that their goaltender can now stop most shots.

If that was the goal everyone would make the post season.

First line didn't get on the scoring box today. I wonder what their record is when they don't score in the game. I feel like the team hasn't won much games that they've been left scoreless.

Anyway, start a new streak.

Your point on his body language is a good point. Initial reactions almost always tell the truth.

Oh well, let’s hope the cobwebs are gone and we go on another tear.

I loved the Monahan holding penalty for being the jam in a Jet sandwich. Even the announcers were scratching their heads.

Fix the PP or you'll only be contending for participation ribbons.

The powerplay has been so consistently bad for so long that it's either not a priority or the personnel in charge don't have the ability to correct it.

This is why we need another proven scorer like Pacioretty who can run his own line. Gaudreau and Monahan will have cold streaks.

Last season, the Flames' best powerplay scorer? Kris Versteeg. Their best shootout scorer? Kris Versteeg.

This is a game they could've really used him in.

Would be awesome. Would force the coaches to play more players from the lineup which could make things interesting. At the very least make the shootout a very very last resort option if the OT goes past 15 minutes. I’d imagine there might be 5 shootouts the whole year if the NHL extended OT.

The last time the powerplay was lethal was when they had Versteeg there. They haven't been able to replace what he brought to it, but it shouldn't be that difficult to do so.

We have other proven scorers in Backlund and Tkachuk, they just happened to be cold too. There’s no guarantee Pacioretty would be hot while the other guys are cold. Plus the acquisition cost ain’t worth it.

The top scorers all looked off today. They had a 3 on 1 in OT and couldn’t even get off a shot. Throw something at net. I get wanting to maintain possession but all Johnny did when curling back was five a chance for Winnipeg players to get back in the play.
