Revival (2012)
On October 30, 2012, The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm announced that Disney bought Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion.[34] Current Lucasfilm co-chair Kathleen Kennedy will become Lucasfilm president, reporting to Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn, and serve as brand manager for the Star Wars franchise. In addition she will serve as executive producer on new Star Wars feature films, including Star Wars Episode VII, with Episode VIII and Episode IX “every other year”[35]

I would like to see them make it a little darker and get someone like Nolan to do it.
I dunno, As much as I like Nolan I think I'd rather they go with someone with a bit more experience working in the Genre... Singer, Scott or Whedon. Given Whedon's current relationship with Disney via Marvel I could see him getting the gig.

The downside is that I think hes busy.
The upside though, is that if you're interested in re-casting to continue the story, Whedon knows a dude with 'Space-Cowboy' experience that might be useful in regards to recasting Han Solo.....

Of course he's busy... he's Joss Whedon. But yes Avengers 2 is slotted to be released in 2015... unless this purchase changes that since I'm pretty sure Disney won't want those two franchises competing with one another. And yes if Disney is going to do a Post-Return/New Republic era type storyline they'll need some new actors to play the characters and Fillion would be a great Solo (or as good as anyone other then Ford could do).
