Oilers are better than the Kings 5v5 this season. +23 vs +9. Better in expected GF% as well.
They are also better on special teams.
Oilers have the edge in this series, but anything can happen.

Really? What happened several months ago in their first 2 games is far less relevant than the fact that they played each other twice in the last 2 weeks and Edmonton won both by a combined 5-1 score. I'd love for the Oilers to get bounced in the first round, but they're coming in very hot and they're likely to get very favorable reffing in the first round at least, so I don't see the Kings lasting more than 5 games

Someone weirdly undercut the west threads so I can't add the schedules to the OPs like I was planning but here's what's released so far:
Game 1: Monday April 17th Time TBD
Game 2: Wednesday April 19th Time TBD
Game 3-7: TBD

I need to somehow avoid my neighbor and some friends and family members who will be absolutely insufferable. Also, God hates me so I'm picking coilers to sweep. I'm also considering dropping some money on them winning the whole thing which would definitely jinx them bc I never win anything!

I think the Kings are tough matchup for the Oilers. They took them to 7 last year and have gotten much better this year. Kings in 6.

Kings in 6 I like when the Oilers don't win and the media doesn't have to carry on and on about McDavid.

Lol, don’t be ridiculous. They might get out of the first round, but a cup win is not in their future.

Thank god the Oilz isn't playing the Kracken! 2nd worst team in the playoffs after the Panthers!

Don't know about that, the Jets are pretty bad.

Scoring Winger
|
I don't know why so many are looking at last year's series as the benchmark. Very different teams for both squads. LA had no answer for the super line in the final couple games last year, but they are better now with improved goaltending, more scorers, and Doughty. The Oilers are much better without McDavid and Draisaitl on the ice this year - meaning it is harder to take advantage of when they aren't on the ice - and their powerplay will always mean that they can stay close in a game. I think that this series will focus more on Skinner and how much the Oilers can keep the play out of their end of the ice. If Edmonton controls the play, then it's going to be a short series in my view. Edmonton will get their goals and points but can they stop enough to win?
I think that LA surprises them but Edmonton carries the day in 7 games.
