I think he was saved by the stomping the Hondurasian did.

Two yellows was fine in my book.
Sure Beckham was sent off but it is generally agreed that was harsh and a result of a lot of playacting.
Yes, Pogba took a kicktap out but Palacios was stamping and kicking him. For me there was more malicious intent from Palacios then the playacting.
Two reds or two yellows, different offences but one was as bad as the other.

I don't necessarily disagree, but it was after the whistle, this was not.
Makes a really big difference.

Clear penalty, clear second yellow.
An absolute brainfart.

Thats a penalty. A 2nd yellow was perhaps harsh.

That was intentional. Yellow card was fair for that challenge

What's the state of the Canadian game right now? Is there any chance of World Cup qualification in the next 10 or 15 years?

Disagree. Clear scoring opportunity, straight from behind, hard.
Also, the same Hondurasian fouling the same French guy pretty much right after he got the yellow.
I don't see any other choice, guy was a clear danger on the field.

That's the baffling thing. Nearly as if he saw the name on the back, the mist descended and he just went for him.
