Highlights of Honzek’s first game back here:

https://chl.ca/whl/gamecentre/1020547/

He looked alright, made a couple nice passes to set up Lipinski. Looks like he might have grown a bit too, he looks massive out there.

2 goals for Honzek tonight (one empty better), he has 14 shots in 2 games - that’s crazy

Lipinski gets 1g,1a,+2, and goes 17/24 in faceoffs. 26gp/8g/11a/19pts,-3, 32 PIM.

Bell gets an assist,-1. 18gp/8g/10a/18pts,-4, 4 PIM.

Dec.3rd:

Bell gets 2g,1a,but was -3 in a 7-4 loss to Wenatchee. 19gp/10g/11a/21pts,-7, 6 PIM. Connor Geekie was first star with a goal and 3 assists. He is 4th in WHL scoring, with 45 points in 24 games. My boy Riley Heidt is 1st, with 50 points in 25 games. There's going to be a lot of teams that will regret passing on him.

Vancouver beats Spokane,4-3. Honzek was first star, with 3a, and +1. 3gp/2g/3a/5pts,+3, 4 PIM.

Lipinski gets 2a, and was -1. I expect a pretty sharp upturn in his production, now that Honzek is back. 27gp/8g/13a/21pts,-4, 32 PIM.

Was at the Spokane/Vancouver game to watch Honzek and Lipinski tonight. Had to leave shortly into the 2nd period, but Honzek looked really good. Started on Lipinski’s left wing and controlled the play almost every shift. It was my first time seeing him live and was impressed with his hands and vision. Obviously the size is there, but he was able to read plays well, resulting in a short-handed breakaway and setting up multiple good chances. Saw him play the body a bit as well which I wasn’t expecting. He took some draws as wel, switching with Linpinski when Honzek was on his strong side. Honzek and Linpinski also played in all situations including the pk where Honzek set up Leslie for a short-handed goal after I had left.

Lipinski also was noticeable at times, but not to the same degree as Honzek. He was consistently reliable in his own end and showed a couple flashes of skill in front of the net but unable to finish. He skates pretty well for a guy his size and I could see him as an option on the 4th line like a Garnet Hathaway type player.

Just saw the game ended 4-3 Giants with Honzek first star with 3 assists.

I took some pictures during warmup and will try to upload them tomorrow.

@Sandman

can you perhaps explain how Morin's season is going? He seemed to have a great year last season. this season - it seems there's much more goal support for the team and he's 8th in scoring wheras last year he was 2nd? one would think with more goals being scored, he would have more points this year than last.

Thanks for asking! I was asked how many points I thought Morin would get this year when the season started, and I said that if he played a full slate of games, he could concievably get over 80 points- much like 2022 2nd rounder Tristan Luneau did last year. With Moncton doing as well as they are (3rd in the Q), and with how well his season was predicted to go by most pundits, I can't really explain why he's not the top scoring D in the Q (he did miss a few games at the start of the season). His points via the PP are about the same ratio too. I believe he may be paying more attention to his defensive duties, and I also believe he'll have a big surge offensively in the second half. Moncton also seems to have a much deeper, more well-balanced D-core this season with some of their players taking a step forward (he led the Wildcats in scoring last year by 54 points!)- but I can't see him getting too much less ice-time because of it. They aren't as solely dependent on him to run the blueline as they were last year, though. By all accounts, they rode him HARD last year, and it can't be understated how good a season he had, especially for a 17 year old.

I think he comes on in the second half. Anybody else got anything?

Honzek sits at 4gp/2g/4a/6pts,+2, 4 PIM.

Bell gets 1a, even, and a game-high 10 shots. 20gp/10g/12a/22pts,-7, 6 PIM.

Moncton beats Quebec, 4-0, but no points for Morin. He is tied for 9th in D scoring with 23gp/5g/14a/19pts,+5, 6 PIM.

^Why doues that show 25minute mark in the 2nd period on the score dashboard? Does it count down from 60 or some weird thing?

My guess is they had a delay, probably broken glass, and rather than wait 20 minutes for them to repair it. Rather than have the teams wait they started the intermission early and added the time to the 2nd period. Happens more often in junior/minor leagues as the crews aren't as efficient replacing/repairing glass/boards.

Lipinski makes the bears rain down with a SHG on the breakwaway!
