Keegan Kanzig goes Krazy.

I noticed Kanzig only has 4 points in 16 games for Victoria. I know he isn't known for his puck skills, but I was hoping to see him have more points in his 4th season in the WHL.

Wait, what happened to Coda Gordon? Is he no longer a flames prospect? I noticed that in 20GP he has 23 points with Swift Current this year.

Nvm, just did a more thorough search and found out he's re-entering the draft.

He already re-entered the draft and was not selected. He is now an NHL unrestricted free agent.

some interesting news out of the OHL. rumors are that Josh Ho-Sang is close to being traded from the Spitfires and one of the possible destinations are the Oshawa Generals to play with another Islanders' pick Dal Colle. Ho-sang has a NTC and can choose his destination (NTCs are fairly common in the OHL)

if he was traded to Oshawa, most likely Smith's ice time would go down (assuming that Smith isn't part of the return going back to Windsor)

I'd love to see this happen. Provided Smith isn't going the other way this move would make Oshawa a legit threat to come out of the OHL and play in the memorial cup. What a great experience this would be for Smith.

Disagree a bit here. First line ice time is probably better for his development than playing 2nd /3rd line in the memorial cup

I'd presume Smith would retain his front of the net role on the PP. Don't think he's playing with Dal Colle at even strength right now.

Well the discussion is now moot. Ho-Sang has been traded to Niagara

Don't know where to put this, but Hockey's Future has ranked the Flames prospect pool 2nd overall.

Austin Carroll and Hunter Smith are starting to look like pretty good later round picks by the Flames. Congrats to scouting efforts.

To be fair, they were in their third and second drafts, respectively. Older players are expected to rack up points at that level.

From that HF ranking.

Quote:
Top 5 Prospects: 1. Johnny Gaudreau, LW; 2. Sam Bennett, C; 3. Sven Baertschi, LW; 4. Max Reinhart, C; 5. Markus Granlund, C.
I just don't see how Max Reinhart fits on this list anymore. He's one guy who has regressed in the last year for me...or at least been passed by a couple guys in terms of organizational depth. Even then, I don't see Reinhart at his peak being anything more than a 3rd liner.

I'd easily put in Poirier on this list instead of him (probably in the #3 spot), and I think you could make a pretty solid case for guys like Ferland, Wotherspoon, Gillies, and Klimchuk being ahead of him too.

Reinhart so far hasn't been able to transfer his AHL game to the NHL whereas Granlund, Ferland and Wotherspoon seemed to have been able to. The way Poirier has adjusted to the AHL is promising as well.

Those rankings are from the Outdated hockeys future page that still puts reinhart as a 7.5 C. Which puts him ahead of the klimchuk and poirier rankings of 7.0 C which haven't been updated for 2 years. All 3 of Bennett, Gaudreau and baertschi are 8 C (Blue chips).
